Join I-DIEM as a VISTA for Grant and Proposal Development to support equitable disaster management initiatives and enhance global resilience through effective storytelling and partnerships.
The Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management (I-DIEM) is a global nonprofit established to facilitate change by integrating equity in all aspects of climate and disaster management. Our focus is on humanity, and we support underserved and marginalized populations by leveraging diversity, equity, and inclusion towards equitable disaster outcomes globally. As our VISTA, members will touch the lives of millions across the world through impactful change from our office in Tampa, Florida while enhancing global resilience through innovative programs and approaches that are people-focused and career boosting. We are looking for a skilled writer, motivated self-starter, with the ability to work individually or collaboratively. As a grant and proposal development VISTA, you will join a motivated team of researchers, grant writers, and proposal developers that lead our nonprofits development initiatives. Leverage your writing, marketing, and storytelling abilities to support climate and emergency management education, awareness, research, training, youth and women’s empowerment, equitable response and recovery, and community-crafted resilience solutions dedicated to enhancing equity for all. Through this experience, you will learn key elements of program management or expand your program management knowledge and skills on a larger level that can support a career in fundraising, business development, nonprofit management, or technical writing while building the capacity of our organization to make a more significant contribution to those in need. Member Duties : 1. Collaborate with Research and Grants Program Manager to update organizational grantmaking profile. 2. Design and develop funding one-pagers for all organization programs, projects, and initiatives to guide effective grant and proposal development. 3. Draft pre-written grant content that can be leveraged for upcoming grant opportunities. 4. Support the grant capture process by exploring grant databases and funding opportunities daily to present to organization for potential funding. 5. Collaborate with grant writers and staff on the development of grants and proposals including all required grant materials. 6. Build database of annual funding opportunities and tracker for submissions. 7. Build funding client relationship management system to guide grant and proposal development.
