The Digital Graphic and Packaging Designer at MFUSED is a highly creative and skilled individual responsible for delivering exceptional, on-brand packaging and digital design solutions that resonate with our customers across retail and promotional platforms. This role is critical in creating dynamic, visually appealing packaging and marketing materials that elevate MFUSED's brand identity and engage clients across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate will work closely with MFUSED’s leadership, product development, sales, and marketing teams to bring compelling designs to life. This position requires proficiency in creating innovative designs, managing multiple projects, and ensuring production-ready files meet the highest quality standards.

ESSENTIAL ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES(include the following but other duties may be assigned):

  • Brand Vision Alignment: Deeply understand MFUSED’s brand vision and design packaging and digital assets that align with and enhance our brand identity.

  • Innovative Design: Propose and create new design concepts, including fonts, layouts, and visual elements, while ensuring they remain true to MFUSED’s brand.

  • Digital Marketing Support: Design and retouch digital marketing assets for product launches and promotional campaigns across various channels, including email, SMS, e-commerce, retail, and social media.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Manage relationships with key vendors to ensure design integrity from concept to production, including overseeing proofs and press checks.

  • Consistent Branding: Ensure consistency in branding across all packaging and promotional materials, including product line extensions, seasonal campaigns, and in-store displays.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with product development, sales, and marketing teams to achieve the highest quality designs within project constraints, such as timing and cost.

  • Digital Illustration: Produce high-quality digital illustrations (raster & vector) for product components, packaging, and promotional materials.

  • Design Guidelines Management: Strategize, manage, and evolve design guidelines for packaging systems, email, paid social, and digital website assets, ensuring consistent application across all projects.

  • Packaging Support: Design and maintain a wide array of unit cartons, palettes, component designs, promotional marketing merchandise, PR box mailers, and POP displays.

  • Retail Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and implement compelling visual merchandising displays for retail environments.

  • Image Resizing and Formatting: Resize and format product, model, and lifestyle images for retailer partners with each new launch or account.

  • E-tailer Storefronts: Support Sales with creating layouts and promotional images for e-tailer storefronts.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, remaining flexible through revisions while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

  • Industry Awareness: Stay current on industry trends, social sentiment, and competitors, applying this knowledge to enhance creativity and market relevance.

  • File Preparation for Production: Prepare final files for production, collaborating with the production team on specifics such as Pantone matching, proofing, etc.

  • Digital Archive Maintenance: Organize and maintain digital archives for all design projects, ensuring easy access and continuity.

  • Trend Research: Research current design trends in the beauty, cannabis, and packaging industries, pushing the team towards creative, out-of-the-box thinking.

  • Product Mock-ups: Collaborate with the production team to create mock-ups of products for presentations and reviews.

  • Creative Composition Management: Translate approved master creative compositions into various sizes and formats, ensuring the original creative intent is maintained.

  • Press Checks and Proof Approval: Attend press checks and approve print proofs for packaging elements.

  • Project Flow Management: Manage project profiles, deadlines, and flow through project management tools such as Asana.

  • Digital-First Mindset: Keep abreast of new visual trends and the competitive landscape, particularly in Paid Media and Social Creative, to pull forward best-in-class visual ideas.

  • Digital Design Skills: Handle all aspects of digital design, including email and ad design, quick comping, animated GIFs, banner resizing, photo retouching, and delivering polished design solutions.

  • Deadline Management: Work efficiently under tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail, being self-motivated and proactive.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the MFUSED brand.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic and packaging design, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready designs.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is required.

  • Packaging Design Expertise: Extensive experience in packaging design, including creating collateral, POP displays, print advertising, and digital marketing assets.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience with Premiere Pro and light video editing is preferred. Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • At least 21 years old per state law.?

  • Must have a valid in-state Driver's License and reliable transportation.

  • Will be required to obtain certificates or licenses within 90 days of employment that are required to operate in existing markets. Additionally, will need to be able to obtain certificates and licenses in new markets as needed.

  • Industry Awareness: Deep understanding of packaging design trends and technology, particularly within the cannabis industry.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively address them.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct supervision. However, the Digital Graphic and Packaging Designer will set design standards and oversee the quality and consistency of design outputs across projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.

  • Occasional travel may be required to attend press checks, visit production sites, and collaborate with vendors.

  • The work environment is primarily office-based, with some exposure to production environments. Exposure to cannabis products may occur.
