The Group Manager, Marketing Operations will ensure compliance and efficiency in marketing activities within the Global Operations function, focusing on optimizing workflows and driving results in the Diabetes Care division.

As a key member of our GSM team, the Group Manager, Marketing Operations (MLR & Program Management Support) will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and operational efficiency within our Global Operations function for Marketing activities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a depth of experience in managing a PRC/MLR review process in medical devices or a similar category, coupled with an ability to lead/influence stakeholders and partners toward adopting new systems, tools and processes that will reinforce compliance while increasing efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing marketing operations, optimizing workflows, and driving measurable results while ensuring compliance with MLR guidelines.
What You'll Work On
Lead and manage the marketing operations team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Develop and implement marketing operations strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness with a focus on MLR compliance.
Manage marketing technology stack, including CRM, marketing automation, and analytics tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, IT, and MLR, to ensure seamless integration and execution of marketing initiatives.
Analyze and report on marketing performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Optimize marketing processes and workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure MLR compliance.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in marketing operations and MLR requirements.
Manage the end-to-end review and approval lifecycle of promotional materials, utilizing electronic review system (Veeva PromoMats)
Ensure material submissions meet quality standards prior to circulation to Reviewers and provide proactive guidance where needed
PRC meeting management and facilitation: This includes but is not limited to agenda planning, calendar management, handling of expedite reviews, and capturing consensus outcomes during live discussion meetings
Support escalation process in partnership with Marketing teams
Ensure Agencies, Marketers, and Reviewers receive appropriate PRC/MLR process training and adhere to process guidelines and best practices
Involved in the planning and execution of product launches, new indications, and label updates in partnership with Marketing and Regulatory
Support material prioritization efforts in partnership with Marketing
Lead and partner with Ad Promo specialists that in MLR submission priority management, while collaborating with marketing teams and other stakeholders to ensure assets move quickly through the process; and track timely approval of promotional materials for efficient review
Identify and resolve issues to ensure reviews are efficiently completed throughout the stages of the approval process
Oversee and track electronic review cycles to meet approval timelines
Involved in project work supporting continuous improvement and innovation
Represent Abbott Diabetes Care as the global lead for divisional MLR processes, best practices, and digital solutions
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required; MBA preferred
Six years marketing experience with a minimum of four years in a commercial role including, product marketing
Preferred Qualifications
Self starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of self confidence and intellectual curiosity, and demonstrates good executive presence.
Proven ability to identify/define business questions and issues and develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.
Comfortable working across functional areas (ex. R&D, Regulatory, Operations, etc.) and at varying levels of the organization.
Previous experience with product development (preferably in a technology driven business), marketing strategy, market research, business development and international business.

The base pay for this position is $146,700.00 – $293,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
