About the Role:
Babbel is seeking an exceptional Head of Growth Marketing, Customer Acquisition to lead our customer acquisition efforts across all paid marketing channels—digital (paid social, influencer marketing, SEM, search, and display), offline (TV, radio, and podcast) and affiliate and partnerships. This leadership role is focused on driving profitable customer growth and meeting sales and revenue goals through the strategic management of a diverse marketing portfolio. As the Head of Growth Marketing, Customer Acquisition you will be accountable for the growth customer acquisition strategy across all digital and offline channels, with full responsibility for hitting annual sales volume and revenue goals, with a focus on profitable contribution margin. This includes overseeing key channels such as SEM, paid social, display, influencer marketing, TV, radio, podcasts, and affiliate/partnership marketing.
You will lead a team of growth marketers, guiding them to build and execute high-impact campaigns that drive measurable results across multiple markets. You will also work closely with senior leadership, Product, Data, Design, and Content teams to ensure that Babbel's marketing efforts are cohesive, creative, and aligned with the overall growth strategy. This role is both highly strategic and hands-on, with a strong focus on leadership and execution. You will report directly to the Vice President of Growth Marketing and play a crucial role in shaping Babbel's growth strategy.
This position is located in NYC and requires a minimum of 3 days/week in office.
You will:
- Lead the acquisition strategy across digital marketing (paid social, influencer marketing, SEM, display, and search), offline marketing (TV, radio, podcasts), and affiliate/partnership marketing to drive profitable customer acquisition
- Own revenue and sales volume goals for the year, with a primary focus on profitable contribution margin as the key KPI for success.
- Oversee and manage a team of 10-15 marketing professionals, ensuring performance and professional growth while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Set the direction for campaign strategies and budget allocation across all channels to ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee the execution and optimization of marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital (Facebook, Google, TikTok, YouTube), programmatic display, native, search, retargeting, and offline (TV, radio, podcasts).
- Act as the key point of contact for Product, Design, Creative, and Content teams to ensure that campaign creatives, messaging, and offers align with brand guidelines and customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain systems and processes for managing and optimizing budget allocation, bid optimization, and performance tracking.
- Implement a robust framework for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on campaign performance across all channels and markets, leveraging data to refine strategies and improve results.
- Ensure continuous A/B testing and multivariate testing across campaigns to optimize creative, messaging, and landing pages for improved conversion rates.
- Manage relationships with third-party agencies, ad networks, platforms, and other key partners to maximize the impact of our acquisition efforts.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all marketing teams and stakeholders, aligning marketing efforts with Babbel's growth targets and broader business goals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging marketing channels, and competitor strategies to maintain Babbel's competitive edge in customer acquisition.
You have:
- 8+ years of experience in growth marketing roles, with proven expertise in both digital and offline marketing channels (SEM, paid social, search, display, influencer, TV, radio, podcasts, affiliate marketing).
- Proven experience in driving profitable customer acquisition, with a clear focus on contribution margin and achieving revenue and sales volume targets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage large teams (10-15 people) in a high-performance, growth-driven culture.
- Strong hands-on experience with performance marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, TikTok, Taboola, Outbrain, etc.) and offline channels (TV, radio, podcasts).
- Experience in managing affiliate and partnership marketing efforts, building strategic partnerships that drive significant revenue.
- Deep understanding of marketing funnels, conversion rate optimization, and customer journey mapping.
- Expertise in analyzing large data sets and deriving actionable insights to optimize campaigns and improve performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with executives, product, design, and creative teams.

Salary Information:
- In New York City, the reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is $150,000-$180,000. Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level.
