Real Chemistry seeks a dynamic leader as the Head of US Medical to oversee medical communication strategies, enhance client partnerships, drive innovation, and lead a talented team to transform healthcare communications.

Real Chemistry is looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of US Medical. In this role, you will oversee the development and execution of high-impact medical communication strategies (for both Medical Affairs and Promotional clients), positioning Real Chemistry as a trusted partner in the life sciences and healthcare industries. You’ll drive communications that bring value to clients by translating complex medical information into engaging and accessible messaging for diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and industry stakeholders. The ideal candidate has proven experience in medical communications, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:
  • Define and lead the strategic direction for US Medical team, aligning with global objectives and business goals.
  • Build Real Chemistry’s reputation as a leader in medical communications by ensuring the team’s work reflects deep medical insight, scientific accuracy, and innovative thinking.
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with key client stakeholders to understand and address their unique needs and objectives.
  • Devise and implement a business development strategy to attract new clients, win RFPs and build organic growth opportunities across pharm clients and biotech
  • Managing revenues of over $100m and working to double digit growth projections
  • Drive client satisfaction by delivering measurable outcomes and consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for expanding medical communication services with current clients and attracting new business.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of ~200 integrated medical communication professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Develop and implement training programs to keep the team updated on industry trends, new communication strategies, and best practices.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, scientific advancements, regulatory requirements, and emerging platforms to continuously enhance the effectiveness of medical communications.
  • Lead innovation in medical communications by piloting new approaches, integrating technology, and implementing data-driven strategies.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the US Medical team, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource use.

What you should have:
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, communications, public health, or a related field (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in medical communications, healthcare communications, or related fields, with a strong understanding of the healthcare and life sciences industries. Experience on client side in pharmaceuticals would be preferable.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving high-impact projects.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in medical communications.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with the ability to understand client needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
Pay Range: $320,000.00-$350,000.00
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
