DESCRIPTION OF ROLE | HOUSE LEADER

The House Leader role is like that of a General Manager who is fully hands-on and works alongside the team. This person reports directly to Jennifer Desrosiers, our founder and CEO, and Ryan McNally, our COO. The House Leader oversees, directs, and coordinates the operations of the restaurant, which includes the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives in sales, costs, team retention and development, guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, safety and sanitation. Maintaining our excellence standards in care of team and guests is of top priority. Our culture is one of connection and collaboration so this role will closely work with members across all aspects of our team especially the ALTITUDE executive team and house leaders at other locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

· Align with LANEY & LU and ALTITUDE’s mission, core values and team culture.

· Demonstrate ability to model and infuse culture and branding sensibility daily in all activities.

· Work alongside the team in the preparation of food and beverages

· Meet/exceed annual P&L objectives with a focus on labor, productivity, cost of goods, and production management.

· Place product orders

· Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.

· Make weekly bank deposits, reconcile and report petty cash and handle weekly expenses in collaboration with CEO/COO and bookkeeper.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, team and guests.

· Review and report on financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify and action areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.

· Collaborate with Chief of Brands on the development of, planning, and implementation of restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns.

· Be knowledgeable and maintain high level of commitment to all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and completed on a timely basis.

· Assess staffing needs as required by seasonal business needs and staff availability, schedule staff hours and assign duties.

· Navigate team attendance, availability changes, and hold team accountable in accordance with attendance policies.

· Administer weekly payroll submittal.

· Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action/coaching with regards to performance as well as violation to company policies and procedures.

· Provide necessary training and mentoring to Leadership Team to ensure that they can support the team in a manner consistent with LANEY & LU policies and culture.

· Ensure Leadership Team and Kitchen Leader have skills necessary to lead teams to achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness.

· Organize and direct team training and All Hands Meetings that include relevant, timely issues, concerning operations of the restaurant, culture development and team building.

· Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and terminating staff, providing on-boarding orientation and on-going training and building the team excellence muscle.

· Communicate team wins, priorities, best practices, operational changes and business updates in timely, motivating manner.

· Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.

· Resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations in manner consistent with LANEY & LU’s commitment to delivering positive customer experiences and ensure others on the Leadership Team can do the same.

· Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, plating appearance, portioning, cooking and serving standards.

· Perform food preparation or service tasks, such as preparing food, clearing and cleaning tables, and serving food and drinks.

· Collaborate with Kitchen Leader to maintain food and equipment inventories and keep inventory records.

· Mindfully limit, monitor, and record food and packaging waste for the benefit of the business’ success and the planet.

· Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services, such as waste removal and pest control.

· Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition.

· Attend weekly Leadership Team meetings.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills that engage people in a genuine, authentic way.

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

· Exhibits a high level of professionalism, integrity and discretion with a can-do, proactive attitude.

· Superb organizational and time management skills, able to work independently, multi-task, and easily adapts and responds to change.

· Demonstrate management of applicable restaurant regulatory areas, including employee safety, people operations, food safety and sanitation.

· Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).

· Able to reach & bend frequently and lift up to 50 pounds.

· Be 21 years of age or older.

· Stamina and availability to work up to 50 hours per week, or as the business requires.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Three or more years of front-of-the-house operations and experience as an assistant manager in the service in the food and beverage industry

· Proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Docs, and the major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn)

· Preferred proficiency in Toast POS, Canva, and Monday.com

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
