Human Resource Manager
LOCATION
Sherman Oaks, CA (3 days a week in office)
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, 5+ years of HR experience across multiple disciplines, solid knowledge of employment laws, strong interpersonal and communication skills; SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage employee relations, recruitment, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, compensation, learning and development, employee engagement, and collaborate with payroll activities.

Position Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating key HR programs and processes. This individual will oversee areas such as employee relations, recruitment, compliance, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, compensation, learning and development, employee engagement, and career pathing. Additionally, the HR Manager will collaborate with the Senior Payroll Manager to provide administrative support and ensure alignment between HR and payroll activities.
Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by addressing concerns proactively.

Recruitment
- Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
- Partner with hiring managers to meet workforce needs and ensure a positive candidate experience.

Compliance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in updating and enforcing HR policies and procedures.

Onboarding and Offboarding
- Manage onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Oversee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and employee feedback.

Performance Management
- Support performance review cycles and help managers navigate performance improvement plans.
- Assist employees and managers in setting and achieving performance goals.

Compensation
- Administer compensation plans and support market benchmarking activities.
- Partner with leadership to ensure pay practices are competitive and equitable.

Learning and Development
- Coordinate training and development programs to support employee growth.
- Assist in management and leadership development initiatives.

Employee Engagement
- Support employee engagement strategies to foster a positive workplace environment.
- Collect and analyze employee feedback to inform HR initiatives.

Collaboration with Payroll
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Payroll Manager for payroll-related activities.

HRIS Systems
- Maintain and manager JazzHR and Salary.com.
- Partner with Sr. Payroll Manager on HRIS – ADP Workforce Now

Leave Administration
- Be the first point of contact for employee leaves, provide guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Partner with Sr. Payroll Manager to ensure the execution of the leave is done effectively and tracked correctly.
- Worker’s Compensation Administration
- Coordinate and manage worker’s compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Act as a liaison between employees, managers, and insurance providers to facilitate claim resolution and return-to-work programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with exposure to multiple HR disciplines.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
