QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Suites, Adobe Photoshop, and design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.), strong budgeting and graphic design knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and previous experience in interior design preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Lead Designer in coordinating client communication, preparing design documents, conducting research, drafting floor plans, overseeing product specifications, managing procurement processes, and supporting project installations and marketing efforts.

Seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to support the Lead Designer in transforming spaces and ensuring projects meet client needs, timelines, and budgets.

Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for design and a keen eye for aesthetics, capable of transforming spaces into functional and visually appealing environments.

The Interior Design Assistant will work closely with Lead Designer to determine client needs and preferences while ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage the Client Questionnaire during the initial inquiry phase.
  • Coordinate Client’s Pinterest link to share supporting inspirational photos.
  • Coordinate and manage email templates for client communication.
  • Preparing supporting documents such as Letter of Agreement, Statement of Work/Proposals, Quotes, Purchase Orders, Client Presentations,Project Schedules, Checklist, etc.
  • Supporting Programming phase with onsite measurements, photos, and meeting notes.
  • Drafting floor plans and assisting Lead Designer with space planning options, sketches, and diagrams to create visual representations of design concepts.
  • Assist Lead Designer in research of specifications such as finishes, dimensions, availability, lead times, etc.
  • Communicating with Contractors, Builders, Clients, etc. during the initial phase of the design process to answer questions or gather additional information about presented renderings, finishes, and preferences or needs that support the project.
  • Oversee product specifications and assist in the calculation of appropriate pricing for business profit with Lead Designer.
  • Assist in Procurement Phase with order tracking.
  • Order project samples as needed (textiles, finishes, etc.) and develop project boards for presentations.
  • Assist with coordination of photography and installations upon project finalization.
  • Assist in Accessories packages by purchasing and organizing art, furniture, and other design elements in preparation for installation, photoshoots or other types of presentations to clients and marketing efforts.
  • Conducting research related to interior design trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for new products or services.
  • Marketing Support (Social Media Templates, Coordinating Strategic Plan, Brand Administration).
  • Support Team with coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, client communication, etc.
  • Manage BGD Library Organization Process including all textiles and finishes.
  • Assist with office maintenance and organization.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites, Adobe Photoshop is required.
  • Proficiency in Design Files, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, Revit, or another design software is ideal.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous work is required for application.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting principles related to interior design projects (A basic understanding of Excel for profit tracking strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles to present ideas clearly and support marketing efforts by maintaining brand standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in interior design or a related field is preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 25 per week
