SHORT DESCRIPTION
The internship program at Otsuka, Intern the Otsuka Way (InTOW), offers hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, providing opportunities for skill development while working on significant projects alongside experienced professionals.
- The Pricing & Contracting (P&C) team oversees all contractual relationships with payer level customers (PBMs; HMOs, GPOs) as well as working with the Market Access team in developing contracting and pricing strategies for all Otsuka products. P&C is responsible for all rebate and discount expense line items (Gross-to-Net reporting) as well as handling all Government (Federal & State) mandated pricing reporting.
- P&C collaborates with many internal stakeholders including Market Access, Legal, Commercial Analytics, Forecasting, Brand Marketing, Regulatory, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) to develop and deliver optimal pricing & contracting tactics and analyses/modeling within brand, access, and contracting strategies to achieve product and corporate financial goals.
- In this internship role, key responsibilities include the following:
- Analyze formulary changes for Otsuka and competitor products, focusing on volume and market share trends within the competitive market basket.
- Develop a searchable database to assist with referencing analog metrics and accompanying report templates.
- Support with development of Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid contract reporting to include profitability of key segments/products/customers, post-deal analysis, and development of regular management reports.
- Assist with contract operations (e.g., rebate invoice processing, contract set up with 3rd party vendor, etc.), support for Market Access Account Executives, and other areas as needed.
- By Fall 2025 a candidate must be considered an undergraduate senior or master’s student.
- Accounting, Finance or related Business degree in progress.
- Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship.
- Can commit to full duration of internship program.
- Relevant coursework or experience.
- Strong technical skills (e.g., software proficiency, data analysis, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
