POSITION PURPOSE: Candidates will work with the Private Wealth internal sales team on daily activities and projects geared towards solving real business challenges while getting exposure to other departments, including Management, Operations, Portfolio Oversite, Marketing, and IT. As part of the internship, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in internal training (including product and sales skill training), ‘shadow’ internal team members, practice public speaking skills, and assist leadership on department-specific projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Private Wealth sales team in daily activities such as territory management and appointment scheduling support to increase wholesaler productivity.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with sales, fund operations, and portfolio oversite to develop business acumen – both industry and product related.
  • Assist in research efforts regarding current and prospective clients.
  • Contribute content to buildout Salesforce database, including but not limited to guides, reporting features, and relationship management.
  • Assist on special department projects (internal projects/ client specific/ data input)
  • Accept and apply coaching and feedback.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program; Minimum GPA 3.2
  • Significant interest in the workings of the financial markets, sales, and investment management profession.
  • Strong critical thinker who is a strong self-starter
  • High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrate the highest personal ethics and integrity
  • Paid; 30-32 hours per week at CIM’s office in Phoenix, AZ

  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal.
  • Ability to write correspondence and/or reports
  • Ability to effectively present information to lenders and other employees of the organization.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Deadline-driven and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively evaluate/address work opportunities within the area of responsibility
  • Ability to solve practical problems
