QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent; currently enrolled in an accredited college/university preferred. Previous event experience, passion for sports/motorsports, flexibility, punctuality, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in planning and executing at-track activations and fan engagement events, manage displays and collateral, engage fans, support event preparations, and collaborate with the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend team on projects.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual will have an opportunity to gain experience in the racing industry by participating in grassroots marketing efforts which include traveling to various events aimed at interacting with consumers and assisting with the planning and implementation of a racing event, all while representing the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend and INDYCAR brands.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assist with planning and execution of at-track activations, such as autograph sessions.
- Plan and execute fan engagement events at race events, special events and other opportunities as assigned.
- Manage displays and collateral at events (including set-up and tear down)
- Engage fans at promotional and racing events
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the INDYCAR brand and various athletes
- Provide ideas, contacts, suggestions on areas for improvement
- Support members of the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend team throughout race weekend with tasks such as display load in, hospitality set up, event ceremonies, etc.
- Think critically to solve problems that arise during events
- Be on site at Iowa Speedway to aid facility staff in receiving deliveries, answer questions, among other tasks
- Help with race event preparations
- Collaborate with Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend team on projects
- Update and maintain documents, schedules, and checklists for race weekend
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college / university is preferred.

- Previous event experience preferred.
- Passionate about sports, motorsports and/or sports marketing

Travel/Work Hours
- Travel to and from local communities for promotions and engagement as well as to and from Iowa Speedway.
- Required ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends & holidays during entire event season.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Physical demands consist primarily of standing, walking and sitting. Must be able to stand and remain mobile for extended periods of time during events. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time during long drives.
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
- Must have the stamina to work long hours and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends or evenings.
- Work outdoors requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold, rain and other conditions.
