Summary
- Under the direction of the CEO, JHF, the JHF Senior Director of Administration leads design, implementation and evaluation of processes and systems to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency at the foundation. JHF Senior Director of Administration is responsible for management and oversight of Foundation policies and procedures, fundraising events logistics and administrative staff. In addition, the JHF Senior Director of Administration serves as the liaison to JHS information technology, human resources, facilities management and compliance.
- Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of strategic direction for administrative functions of the organization, aligning them with the overall mission and goals. Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Administration: Oversee Foundation daily operations, human resources, facilities management, IT, and compliance. Ensure that all administrative processes are running smoothly and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Facilities: Manage facilities, maintain inventory of supplies and goods at on-site and off-site locations, infrastructure, and technology needs to ensure a safe, efficient, and conducive working environment for all staff members. In addition, serve as liaison with JHS Departments. and Blackbaud to ensure safeguard organizational data.
- Human Resource: Work closely with JHS Human Resources team on recruitment and retention strategies, performance management, and employee development programs that foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between the administrative functions and other departments within the organization to support seamless operations and program delivery.
- Process Improvement: Drive operational improvements and lead change initiatives to enhance processes, workflows, and systems. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations teams.
- Reporting: Prepare regular analytical reports for Foundation Leadership and Board of Directors.
- Events: Oversee Director of Events and ensure that all fundraising events adhere to budget guidelines and quality standards.
- Marketing: Serve as the liaison between JHS Marketing team and Foundation to ensure positive outcomes for campaigns and initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Executive Officer.
Experience
- Generally requires a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit administration, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Skill
- Strong problem-solving and analytic abilities are required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to perform as a team leader/member.
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions and be able to articulate reasoning for said decisions.
- Strong customer service orientation in all interactions as well as exceptions exercise of independent judgment.
- Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
