Job responsibilities
- Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future cybersecurity needs
- Defines the technical target state of their cybersecurity product and drives achievement of the strategy
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall cybersecurity of software applications and systems
- Proactively monitor and evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance
- Provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert and recognized as the clear point of escalation for IT Risk and Cyber domains
- Develop and maintain robust relationships, becoming a trusted partner with LOB technologists, assessments teams, and data officers to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and assess cybersecurity design and technical credentials for use in existing systems and architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Cybersecurity Architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions and controls
- Strong working knowledge of information and network security, IT risk management, and architectural concepts and patterns
- Experience creating cybersecurity solutions based on existing security parameters
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge in data security, risk assessment & reporting, control evaluation, design, and governance, with a proven record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., public cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as continuous integration and delivery, application resiliency, and security
- Expertise in driving executive-level strategic decision-making and translating technology insights into business strategies for senior executives
- Experience with fraud prevention controls and experience with financial controls and financial regulatory compliance
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle including automation and continuous delivery methods
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
