RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct apartment tours for prospective residents, run credit reports, prepare lease packets, inspect apartments, maintain logs of traffic, lease units, respond to inquiries, and uphold public relations with residents.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Leasing Consultant will perform administrative tasks to maximize occupancy at Wendwood Square Community, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing Laws and providing excellent service to prospective and current residents.

Leasing consultant opening at our Wendwood Square Community located in Newport News, Virginia.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Performs a variety of administrative tasks geared toward the goal of maximum occupancy by quality residents and performs other functions as assigned by the Community Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Abides by Fair Housing Laws; provides tours of apartments to prospective residents; runs credit reports on prospective residents; prepares lease packets; inspects apartments prior to showing them; maintains logs of traffic through the property; leases units; provides information over the telephone to prospective residents; maintains a visible public relations’ attitude toward current and prospective residents.

OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS: Typing and filing property–related reports; may be asked to assist with rent collection, bank deposits, or other general errands; may be asked to assist with resident retention activities.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Required: High school graduation and a sales/marketing/public relations personality Preferred: Some advanced real estate training, including familiarity with the Landlord-Tenant and Fair Housing laws, and prior experience in a leasing position
