Seeking an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build and execute messaging strategies that enhance user experiences and drive revenue growth at Databox.
About Databox
Come join us on our mission to make it easier for every team at growing businesses to leverage data to improve performance faster. We are the go-to analytics software for marketing agencies and SaaS companies, and are investing heavily in expanding into the mid-market.
In 2024, Databox ranked among the Top 25 Inspiring Workplaces. We’re passionate about surrounding ourselves with people who share our values and fostering an environment that thrives only when everyone succeeds.
The Role: Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Databox is looking for an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our team and help us deliver the right message, to the right user, at the right time. You'll be key to helping us grow our recurring revenue more efficiently by creating valuable and enjoyable experiences throughout our users' journey with Databox.
You are ideally living in the Eastern Time Zone (GMT-5) to maximize overlap across our US and European teams.
This is the first time we’re hiring for this role, so you’ll have the ability to build our messaging strategy from the ground-up, and take ownership of messaging throughout the full user journey - from activation through retention and expansion.
In this role, you'll craft data-informed, personalized campaigns that truly resonate with our diverse user base. Success means collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to rapidly experiment, learn, and scale what works. You'll represent the voice of our users within the company, surfacing valuable insights about how different segments respond to our messaging and creating feedback loops that drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to our Director of Product Marketing you'll run our lifecycle marketing strategy, turning customer insights into personalized campaigns that help users succeed. This includes:
- Getting to know our users inside and out - jumping on calls, doing research, and using these insights to understand what their needs are, and crafting messaging to help them needs those needs
- Using data and automation to deliver highly segmented and personalized experiences to our broad range of customers at every stage of their lifecycle (right message, right place, right time)
- Optimizing our email database of 500k+ contacts, keeping it healthy, growing, and engaged
- Working closely with our RevOps team to implement, track, and measure how we’re performing at each stage, and find areas for improvement
- Creating content that helps users solve their immediate needs while showing them what else is possible with Databox
- Collaborating closely with Growth, Product, Sales, Customer Success teams to incorporate them into the strategy
Skills You'll Need to Bring
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with lifecycle marketing in SaaS - you know what works and what doesn't, and have built successful lifecycle programs before
- You're a strong, proactive communicator - essential since we're a distributed team that spans the globe
- You can write compelling copy that resonates with users and makes them want to take action
- You're technical enough to set up automation, track results, and fix issues when they come up. You're proficient in HubSpot and Intercom, and bonus points if you’re familiar with Mixpanel.
- You know how to utilize data to make better decisions and improve performance (after all, we're an analytics platform!)
- Most importantly, you're customer-obsessed - you love talking to users, understanding their needs, and helping them succeed
- Bonus points if you have experience in coordinating lifecycle messaging for both self-serve and sales-led motions (we utilize both)
Why You'll Love This Role
First, you’ll have a chance to truly build out and own our lifecycle program. We’ve built a strong foundation for you to work with, but you’ll be able to take it to the next level and drive huge impact for our customers and business. You’ll be able to help us find areas to grow, from the time someone meets Databox to the time they refer other customers to us.
Second, delivering value to customers is core to our lifecycle strategy. You won’t be merely split-testing copy or buttons. You’ll be responsible to:
- Learn what customers need
- Create content to help them meet those needs, delivered at just the right time
- Build a relationship with them, uncovering new needs as they grow, and helping them discover new possibilities
So if you love driving customer impact, and thinking from first-principles, this might be a perfect fit for you.
Last but not least, you’ll get to do all this alongside a friendly and passionate team, focused on helping businesses leverage their data to make better decisions and improve their performance.
If this approach resonates with you and you're excited about crafting experiences that help users succeed, we'd love to talk.
