As the Manager of Creative Marketing Operations at Funko, you will oversee project workflow for the Brand & Marketing Creative Team, ensuring efficient operations and creative output aligned with trends in pop culture.

Funko currently holds thousands of lenses and the rights to create tens of thousands of characters – one of the largest portfolios in the pop culture and collectibles industry. Funko’s Pop! Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world.

As the Manager of Creative Marketing Operations, you’ll be asked to binge-watch shows on Netflix, see the most recent Disney movie, keep up with all the latest trends in pop culture and coordinate content production around these trends! This role will focus on managing the daily operations and workflow of projects for the Brand & Marketing Creative Team, ensuring that our Creatives have everything they need to create campaign assets that help build the Funko brand and business.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with inter-departmental leads in Marketing, DTC, Social, Events, and more to plan upcoming workflow, identify high-profile projects that require extra creative brainpower and bandwidth – all while training these teams on how best to engage our Brand & Marketing Creative team.
  • Keep our Creative Director up to date on individual team members’ bandwidth to ensure workload is balanced and the right talent is put on the right projects.
  • Partner with our Creative Director to analyze current creative development workflow and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage our Creative Marketing Operations team, including our Associate Manager as well as other Licensing Approvals coordinator staff, guiding them in their work with our external Licensing partners.
  • Manage Asana project management system on behalf of the Brand & Marketing Creative Team, and harness it to produce creative output tracking data to help Creative Leadership lobby for more resources when appropriate.
  • Analyze Funko’s current Asset Management systems and processes. Make recommendations for improvements to create a more organized and efficient Asset library.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow within our Photo and Video teams to ensure they have what they need to deliver the best assets on time.
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring freelance resources for projects when needed.
  • Coordinate content planning and calendar and input creative needs across the business.
  • Develop and execute a process to audit creative requests.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, PR or a related field, required
  • 6+ years of professional content marketing experience required
  • Extensive experience with Asana required
  • Confidence to advocate for the Creative team with other Funko departments
  • Ability to look ahead, identify bottlenecks, and work proactively to solve them before they happen.
  • Ability to protect the Creative team’s bandwidth when workload is too heavy, partnering with other departments to adjust schedules when necessary.
  • Experience with content management and project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative - always looking at improving our and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary.
  • A successful candidate is comfortable with both ambiguity and a marked attention to detail. All aspects of this position require a clearheaded and accurate workflow.
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $73,600 - $92,000 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
