Your role as Manager, Media & Partnership Sales:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven media and partnership seller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player responsible for generating revenue through the sale of linear and digital advertising solutions as well as Padres corporate partnership assets. This role will work closely with clients and agencies to understand their marketing goals and develop tailored advertising campaigns that drive results.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Identify and develop new business opportunities by targeting potential clients across various industries
- Sell a range of media and advertising products including linear television, streaming television, radio, digital, social media, TV visible signage, in-ballpark assets and IP rights
- Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals on a consistent basis
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact
- Conduct needs assessments to understand clients' marketing objectives and recommend suitable media solutions primarily and full suite of offerings
- Provide ongoing support and consultation to clients to ensure campaign success and client satisfaction
Campaign Development & Management
- Collaborate with the digital marketing and creative teams to develop customized advertising campaigns
- Oversee the execution of media campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
- Monitor campaign performance and provide clients with regular reports and insights
Market Research & Analysis
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in digital media and advertising
- Analyze market data to identify trends, competitive activities, and potential sales opportunities
- Provide feedback to the Executive team on emerging client needs and market demands
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client communications, and campaign results
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to clients
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, programmatic advertising)
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM, and software tools, and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner. Must possess excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Able to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, enthusiasm, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
You will be required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Business, Advertising, or a related field
- Proven experience in media sales, sponsorship sales, or a related role
- Prior experience with data-driven advertising strategies and analytics tools
- Having existing network of industry contacts and potential clients
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 to $80,000. This position is eligible to receive the following, provided goals are achieved: 2.5% on all Net Linear and Streaming Sales sold; $15,000 bonus on hitting individual and department media goal; 3% of Padres Net on new business dollars up to individual goal, 5% above Individual Goal; and $10,000 bonus on hitting department sponsorship stretch goal. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
