Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Walmart Marketplace is a curated community of respected, professional sellers who offer only top-quality, authentic products and best-in-class customer services.

The Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Food is responsible for leading Strategy, Analytics, Project Management, and Go-to-Market for critical initiatives driving growth of the Food division within Walmart Marketplace. They work in close collaboration with Product Management, Content Operations, Seller Performance, Trust & Safety, Compliance, Strategic Account Management, and Business Development, among others, to help define and launch frictionless seller and customer experiences that drive business growth. You'll sweep us off our feet if:

  • You have experience working for a retail marketplace and understand the uniqueness and the importance of creating a best-in-class experience for both sellers and consumers
  • You have experience analyzing retail categories (Food is a strong plus) and understand how to articulate both category-specific and category-agnostic opportunities that can unlock future growth
  • You have experience thinking strategically to identify white space opportunities the prioritize requirements to make progress over time
  • You're analytical and know how identify and analyze data to drive decisions
  • You can independently identify steps required to move projects forward and deliver a positive outcome, leveraging project management best practices
  • You know how to build and strengthen cross-functional partnerships
  • You're organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • You are curious and act with a sense of urgency
  • You have high standards and can hold project contributors accountable
  • You have experience driving organizational change, and understand what it takes to get traction

You'll make an impact by:

  • Developing Business Cases and Strategy for New Initiatives: In partnership with account managers, incubate new opportunity areas, digging into data and identifying seller anecdotes in support of new initiatives. Document the strategy and share it with teams bringing it to life.
  • Analyze and Optimize Existing Initiatives: Partner with seller planning teams to analyze the KPIs required for success of new initiatives and embed these metrics into divisional reporting. Look for insights and drive opportunities to optimize sellers' businesses.
  • Drive Go-to-Market Approach for New Launches : Collaborate with seller marketing, communications, account managers, business development, and others to share the good news as we launch new initiatives. Identify ways to make change 'sticky' and maximize the benefits of our new initiatives for marketplace sellers.
  • Operating with Excellence : Set an example in managing to KPIs, developing high quality presentations, and developing yourself and others. Champion change and evolution, persuade through use of data and facts, demonstrate sufficient gravitas, and inspire and motivate others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business or related area and 2 years' experience in business management, marketing, omnichannel merchandising, or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in business management, marketing, omnichannel merchandising, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years' experience in Business Management, Product, Marketing, Program Management, Merchandising, Finance, Analytics, or a related area.
  • E-Commerce and/or E-Commerce Marketplace experience strongly preferred.
  • Category management or strategy experience strongly preferred (Food is a bonus, but not required).
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines. Experience with project management and cross-functional ways of working.
  • Ability to analyze and present business data clearly to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to drive business positive outcomes.
  • Assertive, adaptable, and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00-$156,000.00

San Bruno, California US-08848:The annual salary range for this position is $91,000.00-$169,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
