SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Analyst plays a crucial role in executing marketing strategies, collaborating across teams, and performing competitive analysis to drive informed brand decisions.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Analyst supports the brand team in executing marketing strategy by facilitating the execution of marketing projects including consumer promotions, new food and beverage menu items, and/or advertising/communications. In this role, the Marketing Analyst collaborates with cross-functional team members (e.g., Consumer Research/Insights, Culinary Development/Chefs, Finance) to ensure that projects and initiatives support overall brand plans. Additionally, the Marketing Analyst leads competitive analysis of both offer and pricing across key markets to inform business decisions.

Marketing Analysts gain exposure to Darden's marketing processes in preparation for further business education, training, and experiences. Marketing Analysts also support management of external vendors/agencies and the evaluation of project results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts deep analysis of key casual dining competitors' menu offers, pricing and promotions to inform brand decisions.

  • Leads offer and creative strategy for in-restaurant Table Tent merchandising through partnership with creative agency and finance.

  • Examines Brand metrics (e.g., sales, guest-counts, CI data, preference), identifies trends, and provides recommendations to Marketing Leaders (e.g., Brand Managers)

  • Partners with cross-functional team members to execute marketing projects such as new food or beverage menu items, consumer promotions, and/or marketing communications.

  • Executes testing for new food or beverage, and marketing communication programs; reports test results and evaluates projects for further national launch.

  • Develops and utilizes project timelines and calendars to execute and communicate key deliverables.

  • Works cross-functionally to exchange information and support ongoing projects and initiatives.

  • Interfaces with vendors/agencies to facilitate project execution

  • Analyzes results of marketing projects and initiatives and communicates results to Marketing Leaders (e.g., Brand Managers)

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge and comfort with the use of computers and various programs and information systems (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Adobe Suite, etc.)

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required.

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organization and time management skills with the ability to organize, plan, and follow-up with tasks

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize various job activities/tasks, including the ability to multi-task when necessary

  • Ability to adjust communication style such that it is effective with various audiences

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data/information to inform business decisions

  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with clarity in the business environment

  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment using information to make timely, effective decisions

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Internship and/or experience working in marketing preferred.

  • Knowledge of current consumer and industry behaviors, trends, attitudes, preferences, and needs preferred
