CommCorp administers diverse workforce grant development programs and builds innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations.
Position Overview
The Marketing & Communications Fellow reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic planning and execution of Commonwealth Corporation’s marketing and communications efforts. This position is responsible for promoting the organization’s mission and ensuring that all internal and external communications reflect Commonwealth Corporation’s goals and values. A key focus of this role is the planning and execution of in-person events, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to travel as needed.
The Marketing & Communications Fellow manages high-quality content development and collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to create and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns.

Work hours: 40 hours per week - Hybrid
Salary: $75,000-$85,000 | Employer contributes 13.2% of gross salary to a 401(a)-employee retirement plan. (Vested 100% on day 1 of hire)

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Participate and lead in the creation and execution of marketing and communications strategies that align with Commonwealth Corporation’s mission and goals.
- Champion the organization’s initiatives, workforce development programs, and partnerships through effective communications.
- Measure the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies to ensure maximum impact.
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop multimedia content, including press releases, social media content, blog posts, reports, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Write, design, and manage content for the organization’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) to expand engagement and awareness.
- Ensure the timely execution of marketing campaigns to enhance the organization’s digital and social media presence.
Event Planning and Execution:
- Planning and executing virtual and in-person events that align with the organization’s priorities and engage target audiences.
- Oversee event logistics, including planning, promotion, messaging, material production, and post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate and manage on-site event activities, ensuring seamless execution and an exceptional attendee experience.
- Travel Required: Must be able to travel to in-person events across the state needed to support event logistics and attend key industry gatherings.
Collaboration with Internal and External Partners:
- Collaborate with program staff to develop event materials and communications that support the objectives of Commonwealth Corporation’s various initiatives.
- Work closely with external partners, including grantees, stakeholders, and other key audiences, to ensure alignment of messaging and successful outcomes.
- Represent Commonwealth Corporation at key industry events, networking with partners and stakeholders to further the organization’s mission.
Website & Digital Presence Management:
- Share responsibility for maintaining and updating Commonwealth Corporation’s website, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the organization’s digital presence and engage visitors through well-curated content.
Administrative Duties:
- Develop reports and materials adhering to brand guidelines.
- Coordinate cross-departmental meetings and manage agendas to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure that key project deadlines are met and that initiatives are carried out on schedule.
- Provide support in the training and development of department staff. Take on supervisory responsibilities as needed, ensuring effective leadership, guidance, and professional growth within the team
- Manage fiscal responsibilities, including handling contracts and other financial documentation in systems like Salesforce.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies, including managing high-profile events, handling logistics, and crafting compelling content across various channels (web, email, social media).
- Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines, quality, and alignment with marketing and communication objectives. Proficient in using project management tools like ClickUp to stay organized and manage workflows.
- Expertise in digital platforms and tools, including WordPress for website content management, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite for design, and CRM platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Salesforce) for managing email campaigns and communications.
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in social media management through platforms like Buffer, as well as developing and executing social media strategies to boost engagement and brand visibility.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Expertise in content management systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- Strong writing, editing, and design skills with a focus on clear and engaging communication.
- This position requires travel to and from in-person events across the state.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Interest in workforce development, youth development, and education.
