The Marketing & Outreach Specialist at embrella will develop impactful digital marketing strategies to engage audiences, enhance brand presence, and facilitate community outreach within a supportive work environment focused on child welfare.

POSITION SUMMARY (Short summary of the essential purpose of the job)
The Marketing & Outreach Specialist will engage our diverse audience through compelling and impactful digital campaigns on social media and in emails. As part of our collaborative and dynamic team, they will work closely with them to implement strategies and optimize our digital presence to ensure consistency in messaging and visual identity across diverse platforms, fostering brand identity and engagement. This position also provides support to the Communications Department and our outreach efforts and logistics for embrella volunteer programs and events.
They must be a detail-oriented, effective communicator who exercises excellent judgement when designing. They must possess excellent design skills, editing skills, and writing ability. They must be able to independently determine which designs most effectively communicate embrella’s message. They will be responsible for creating and coordinating social media posts on all embrella platforms, sending regular email blasts to clients and the public, and for updating and maintaining the email database as needed. The individual will support the Outreach & Volunteer Manager in holding and evaluating community outreach events, volunteer events, and raising awareness of embrella in the community.
The individual must be willing to immerse themself in the culture of the organization in order to communicate effectively. They will ensure that all of their communications adhere to the Communications Editorial Mission Statement developed by the Director of Communications and the Communications Team. They are responsible for assisting with filming and photos for agency events as needed. Some evenings and weekends are required for events, outreach, photo and video shoots, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED (Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately)
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing or similar field and/or 3 years’ proven social media and digital marketing experience
- Branding experience
- Well-versed and proficient in content creation and managing multiple social media platforms and engaging their respective audiences, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube
- Knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategy.
- Proficient in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement or other email marketing software, e.g., Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc. (both in updating emails and in organizing and maintaining the database)
- Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM.
- Basic design skills, and proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects) and Canva.
- Familiarity with pay-per-click campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.)
- Ability to interact with the public and volunteers in a professional manner that fosters efficiency and commitment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Publisher)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to primarily work independently or in groups with minimal supervision
- Has a proven ability to work with and meet tight deadlines
- Has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Has the ability to anticipate needs and ask clarifying questions when necessary
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL DESIRED:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job)
- Knowledge of social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, SEO, paid advertising, and marketing/data analytics.
- Plan, create, publish, and share new content daily (including original text, images, video, and code) that builds meaningful customer connections, increases brand awareness, and encourages community members to engage with embrella.
- Responds to messages in a timely manner.
- Runs reports on social media statistics weekly.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.
- Monitor SEO and customer engagement and suggest content optimization.
- Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and social media best practices to measure the success of every social media campaign, then use that information to refine future campaigns.
- Responsible for the successful execution of embrella’s SMS marketing campaigns.
- Responsible for the successful execution of embrella’s paid social media advertising
strategy, including paid Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Instagram Ads.
- Designs and sends out regularly scheduled email blasts to resource parents, young adults, donors, and the public (Inquiry, Advocate Surveys, Meeting Reminders, Event Reminders, Newsletters, Donor Letters, etc.)
- Updates embrella’s Google Calendar
- Maintains positive relationships with current program partners and volunteers
- Assists in developing relationships with new partners and volunteers
- Attends and participates in embrella events, including live updates and uploading
photos and video to social media.
- Represents embrella at community events as needed and speaks to interested groups about opportunities to get involved with embrella.
- Updates and maintains email database daily, as well as running reports on email statistics weekly.
- Assists with the organization, promotion, and implementation of special events including but not limited to the Annual Recognition Brunch, Family Events, Volunteer Events, Holiday Toy Drive, Fundraisers, etc.
- Performs administrative tasks, including creating and maintaining central filling system, scanning documents, data entry and creating and generating reports, as well as responding to incoming calls and emails for embrella
- Attends Communications Department weekly meetings and monthly planning meetings.
- Meets weekly with the Outreach & Volunteer Manager to review assignments
- Acts as back up to the Marketing Designer and Digital Content Creator as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

This position is primarily sedentary (must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time) and located in an office or home environment; there will be lifting (minimum of 30 lbs.). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, converse and exchange information, in person, on the telephone and over the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about in the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. At times, this job may require the employee to work in the field or work evenings and weekends as needed.
