  • Salary Range: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications

Summary

The Nonprofit Marketing Associate will play a key role in supporting the Marketing & Communications team in promoting Hope Services' mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and mental health needs. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented individual passionate about storytelling, digital marketing, and nonprofit advocacy. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the role focuses on content creation, social media management, website management, and campaign support to enhance the visibility and impact of Hope Services’ programs across nine Bay Area counties.

Essential Functions

The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position. An employee in this classification may be responsible for carrying out any or all of the following functions or other functions as needed:

Content Creation and Digital Marketing:

  • Develop, write, and edit compelling content for the website, blog, email newsletters, and other digital platforms.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to produce engaging visual content, such as photos, graphics, and videos, that showcase Hope’s mission and impact.

  • Maintain and update the organization’s editorial calendar, ensuring the timely execution of campaigns, client success stories, and program updates.

  • Write search engine optimized (SEO) content to improve website visibility and drive organic traffic to Hope Services’ digital platforms.

Website Management:

  • Update and maintain the organization’s website, ensuring content is current, accessible, and aligned with branding and messaging guidelines.

  • Monitor website performance and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement in user experience, engagement, and search engine optimization.

  • Create and optimize web pages for new campaigns, events, and programs to ensure seamless integration with digital marketing strategies.

Social Media Management:

  • Oversee Hope Services’ social media accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube), ensuring consistent branding and messaging.

  • Create and schedule engaging posts, reels, and impact stories to inspire audiences and build community engagement.

  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve audience reach and interaction.

  • Campaign and Event Support:

  • Assist in planning and executing digital and print fundraising campaigns, including email marketing, donor outreach, and promotional materials.

  • Coordinate the production of Hope Services' annual report, collaborating with internal teams to gather content, data, and visuals.

  • Support outreach activities by managing tabling materials and coordinating event-related marketing needs.

Other Marketing Initiatives:

  • Assist in maintaining brand consistency across all marketing materials, ensuring alignment with Hope Services’ mission and values.

  • Conduct market research and stay informed about nonprofit marketing trends to contribute fresh ideas for campaigns and strategies.

  • Provide administrative support for marketing projects, including tracking budgets and vendor invoices.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic HTML is a plus.

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and familiarity with CRM systems is a plus.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to craft impactful narratives.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools such as Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or similar scheduling platforms.

  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and the ability to write optimized content for search engines.

  • Basic graphic design and photo editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
