Marketing & Box Office Assistant - Federal Work Study
LOCATION
Maricopa County Community Colleges, Flexible schedule with work hours primarily Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, totaling 19.5 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Interest in performing arts, prior customer service or graphic design experience preferred, basic knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and social media platforms, strong communication and organizational skills, able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support box office operations with customer service, assist in event marketing and social media management, and maintain safety standards during events. Duties may include ticketing assistance and promotional graphic design.

Job Summary
The Box Office Assistant will support all aspects of performing arts events, including box office operations, event marketing, and front-of-house support. This role is ideal for students who are enthusiastic about the performing arts, eager to learn, and willing to engage with the community.
Additional Information
In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.
- FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Essential Functions
50% - Provides box office services with excellent customer service.
(25%) - Assist patrons with purchasing, refunding, and transferring tickets. Provide information about performances, seating options, and ticket prices.
(25%) - Ushering Help patrons locate their seats. Ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
40% - Assist Marketing & Box Office Specialist and Marketing Department with event marketing.
(15%) - Design graphics for posters, flyers, and social media to promote events. Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content that attracts and grows our audience.
(25%) - Manage Performing Arts social media accounts by posting updates, responding to comments, and interacting with followers.
5% - Safety and Health
(5%) - Assist the PAC Manager in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all facility users. Enforce health and safety policies and regulations as established by the PAC Manager.
5% - Other Duties
(5%) - Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Interest in the performing arts and a willingness to learn new techniques.
Prior experience in customer service or graphic design is preferred, but not required.
Basic knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and social media platforms.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
