Develop and implement marketing strategies, manage brand consistency, conduct market research, oversee communications and publications, coordinate public relations, handle advertising strategies, and manage events and conferences.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Manage all aspects of marketing and communications for NMEDA, driving innovation and collaboration to promote the auto mobility industry and enhance NMEDA's brand value.

This is a full-time, hybrid/remote position which reports to the CEO. The position manages all aspects of marketing and communications for NMEDA. Working in this small-staff organization you can expect to make a big impact and enjoy a wide range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities are “full spectrum,” from developing strategy to writing copy and everything in between. This position will collaborate with other NMEDA team members extensively to promote the auto mobility industry, NMEDA membership, and our programs and events.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in marketing leadership in an international association or B2B environment, with expertise in digital and social media marketing, brand management, and campaign development.

Occasional travel will be required.

Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Marketing strategy: develop integrated marketing, communications, and branding strategy for the association, including the creation of marketing plans and campaigns for NMEDA membership, programs, and events.
  • Brand management: ensure consistent branding across programs and channels; enhance messaging of NMEDA’s brand and association value and values – be the effective champion of NMEDA’s vision, mission, and brand.
  • Market research: analyze industry trends to identify growth opportunities and stay competitive.
  • Innovation: drive innovation in marketing and communications functions; evolve NMEDA’s current hybrid outsourced approach into a comprehensive, integrated approach.
  • Marketing asset creation and management: work collaboratively with other team members to develop assets for various marketing campaigns.
  • Analysis and Insight: collect and analyze relevant marketing data and metrics and apply insights to inform marketing strategy and improve overall success.

Communications and Publications

  • Coordinate the quarterly production of the NMEDA News magazine (layout, design, editorial and printing); maintain contact with advertisers and article providers; provide occasional content by way of ads and/or articles, schedule deadlines and uphold contributors to those deadlines.
  • Produce and deliver NMEDA’s weekly US member, bimonthly Canadian member, and bi-monthly consumer e-newsletters, in addition to other email communication.

Oversee development and maintenance of company websites:

o www.nmeda.org, www.nmedaannualconference.com

o www.nmedacanada.ca (with support from Canada liaison)

o www.automobilityexpo.com (in conjunction with ADED)

Manage quarterly website review process with input from all staff members

  • Manage NMEDA’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Manage NMEDA’s communications calendar.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and update other communication tools such as media kits and exhibitor and sponsor prospectus.

Public Relations

  • Develop a comprehensive public relations plan for promoting NMEDA and the auto mobility industry to external audiences in adjacent verticals and in the general consumer community.
  • Leverage and nurture relationships with industry partners through NMEDA’s established partner program.
  • Participate in strategy development for external events.

Advertising

  • Research, budget, and establish a paid advertising strategy leveraging multiple channels.
  • Own and drive NMEDA’s paid advertising on its website and newsletters.

Events/Miscellaneous

  • Conference: A/V coordination, save the date & other promotional materials, magazine spread, website, onsite program design, signage, auction posters, awards, NMEDA booth and registration space design, Hall of Fame presentation and all other materials as needed. Act as main stage coordinator and POC for Opening and Closing General Sessions.
  • Work with CEO to execute annual US and Canadian board elections.

Professional

  • 3+ years’ experience in a marketing leadership role, preferably in an international association or B2B environment.
  • Deep understanding and experience with digital marketing channels and tools including email marketing, search engine marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Digital-first mindset to set KPIs and help grow audience, engagement, and performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in market research, data analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Strategic thinker with foresight and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent written communication skills and talent for marketing writing for multilingual and multicultural audiences. Excellent proofreading skills required.

Proficiency in graphic design principles and the development of print and digital assets.

  • Experience with Adobe Suite, Canva, HTML, Word Press, social media management platforms, email marketing platforms, basic audio/video editing (e.g., for social media).
  • The ability to travel, including internationally, for up to a week at a time.

  • Self-starter with high quality standards, superb time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of working independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented.
  • Prepared, proactive, well-organized, and self-directed.
  • Polished, professional demeanor, comfortable interacting with people across a diversity of countries, cultures, beliefs, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
