Seeking a self-motivated Marketing & Communications Specialist to execute marketing strategies, create content, manage digital platforms, and support organizational communication at Northland Workforce Training Center.

Marketing & Communications Specialist

Northland Workforce Training Center is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, entrepreneurial individual to serve as Marketing and Communications Specialist. Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Operations, the Marketing and Communications Specialist supports the President & CEO in executing and monitoring the organizations’ marketing and communications strategies. This role involves creating communications and marketing materials such as press releases, photographs, videos, podcasts, blog posts, newsletters, opinion editorials and annual reports. This position is also responsible for managing the organization’s website, and social media platforms, tracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns, and supporting meetings and special events.

Reporting Relationships

Reports To: Vice President of Operations

Coordinates With: Leadership Team, Staff, Students and NWTC Stakeholders

Essential Functions:

· Oversee and implement NWTC’s marketing campaigns including paid and in-kind advertising, all organizational social media platforms, and all digital and printed collateral.

· Works collaboratively with NWTC staff to proactively write annual reports, articles, editorials, student success stories and employer testimonials to increase organizational visibility while enhancing NWTC’s brand.

· Assists President & CEO with drafting speeches, talking points and organizational correspondence.

· Consults President & CEO on crisis management and public relations.

· Serve as primary photographer and videographer, creating content to be utilized to promote the organization.

· Assist in the execution of meetings and events.

Required Skills & Experience

· Must possess excellent writing and proofreading skills ensuring that all written materials have correct grammar, punctuation, and is free of typos.

· Must have related education or experience with graphic arts, marketing, website architecture, and electronic communications (i.e., e-newsletter and other e-correspondence).

· Must possess excellent computer skills including experience working with HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC), Adobe AEM, Adobe Business Catalyst or similar content management system (SharePoint, WordPress).

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Strong communication, organizational and time management skills focused on planning, implementation, and collaboration.

· Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in written and oral communications

· Task-oriented, must be able to quickly shift from project-to-project at a moment's notice and still complete the work.

· Must be a self-starter and able to take initiative to be successful in this position.

· Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse constituencies.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

· Ability to always project a high level of professionalism, handle sensitive information, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications

Position Details

Location: Northland Workforce Training Center, 683 Northland Avenue Buffalo, NY.

Compensation: $58,458.40 - $65,000

Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours) with possible weekend and overtime as per business needs.
