Opportunity for an experienced Marketing Communications Specialist to be the voice of the brand, developing content for marketing initiatives while managing visual communications and ensuring adherence to brand and regulatory guidelines.
Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Communications Specialist.
The Marketing Communications Specialist will be the voice of the brand by developing compelling and accurate content for various marketing materials, customer outreach, advertising campaigns, news releases, social media and corporate websites while ensuring adherence to brand and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the specialist will manage visual communications by designing marketing collateral, digital advertisements, and creating and updating webpage layouts. The specialist will manage the company’s digital asset management platform and provide overall support on various Creative Team marketing initiatives.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Researches, develops and maintains content for all corporate communications, including marketing collateral, video scripts, news releases and speaking engagements.
- Creates and curates’ content for digital campaigns and assets across various channels, including websites, search (PPC/SEO), display, social media, email and SMS. Make copy and optimization recommendations based on performance analytics and keyword research.
- Develops marketing outreach materials, presentations and surveys for targeted distribution channels.
- Regularly updates and optimizes website content to enhance user experience and SEO performance.
- Manage and maintain corporate documents through communication audits and oversight of a digital asset management platform.
- Ensure accuracy, adherence to brand guidelines, messaging consistency and regulatory compliance in all work.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and utilize data to generate content ideas, strategies and editorial calendars.
- Proofread and edit content.
- Design eye-catching marketing collateral and digital advertisements.
- Update and improve webpage layouts to ensure a visually appealing and user-friendly interface.
- Day-to-day oversight of communication audits and content workflows.
- Facilitate language translations of content.
- Contribute creative ideas to various marketing initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a marketing role with a concentration on content creation and graphic design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt writing style to different audiences (will be expected to provide writing samples).
- Impeccable grammar, high attention to detail and familiarity with AP Stylebook and brand guidelines.
- Strong research, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment, juggle multiple deadlines, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate on creative ideas and concepts as well as implement them through content.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills, is required.
- Proficiency in web content management systems and software, especially Widen, strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Dental benefits/insurance industry experience a plus.
