POSITION SUMMARY:

As Summit’s Marketing Content Lead, we’re looking for a versatile and detail-oriented thinker who will craft compelling copy for diverse materials, collaborating seamlessly with the design team. Managing social media across platforms, you'll uphold our brand voice, engage customers, and foster positive relationships. Your role extends to print materials, content strategy, and maintaining the marketing calendar. You'll contribute to a sense of community, handle real-time event coverage, and play a key role in cross-functional collaboration. Staying current with industry trends, your insights will enhance our content strategies. Quality control, including proofreading and editing, is crucial in this fast-paced, impactful position.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Copywriting and Blog Writing: Create compelling, engaging, and persuasive copy for various marketing materials, including websites, landing pages, emails, social media posts, and blog articles. Collaborate with the design team to ensure the written content is effectively integrated into visual elements
  • Social Media Management: Develop, implement, and manage social media content across all platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice and style. Create and schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to customer comments and direct messages promptly and professionally
  • Customer Engagement: Assist in crafting responses to customer inquiries, comments, and feedback on social media posts. Engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner, fostering a strong brand-consumer relationship
  • Print Material Support: Collaborate with the team to assist in writing efforts for customer-facing print pieces, such as brochures, flyers, booklets, and bill inserts. Ensure that the written content aligns with the brand messaging and values
  • Content Strategy: Contribute to the development of content strategies that align with the brand marketing goals and target audience. Generate innovative ideas for new content initiatives and campaigns
  • Content Calendar Management: Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to meticulously maintain the marketing content calendar to plan, schedule, and place content that's coordinated with marketing campaigns, events, and news-sharing opportunities
  • Community Building: Foster a sense of community among customers and external audiences through engaging and interactive content
  • Brand Voice Maintenance: Uphold and refine the brand voice, ensuring consistency in all written materials. Train team members and other departments on the brand voice guidelines
  • Event Coverage: Attend company events, engagements, or company-sponsored activities for real-time content creation. Live posts, updates, and engage with the audience during Summit events.
  • Crisis Management: Aid in content development protocols for handling potential crisis-related issues on social media. Act as a point of contact in responding to sensitive issues or negative feedback.
  • Training and Development: Aid Strategy and Content Manager to conduct training sessions for team members (Marketing or Customer Experience team) on writing techniques, social media etiquette, and content strategy. Aid in providing constructive feedback to team members for continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure that the written content is aligned with visual elements and overall campaign objectives
  • Research and Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in the content and social media marketing landscape. Apply new insights to improve content strategies.
  • Quality Control: Proofread and edit written content for accuracy, grammar, and consistency. Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a high level of quality.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality work under pressure
  • Other Duties: Aid with various marketing tasks as assigned, showcasing your adaptability and willingness to contribute to the team's success

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in marketing, communications, journalist, advertising, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing content creation, with a focus on copywriting and social media management.

  • Proven ability to manage content calendars, plan, schedule, and place content in coordination with marketing campaigns, events, and news-sharing opportunities.
  • Familiarity with crisis management on social media and experience in aiding content development protocols for potential crises.
  • Training and development experience, including conducting sessions on writing techniques, social media etiquette, and content strategy.
