About Us
The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance is a 501(c)(6) non-profit marketing organization whose mission is to increase the visibility and prominence of the Finger Lakes AVA, its wines, and wineries. We target trade and media with marketing programs to assist our winery members in their wholesale relationships, while also striving to offer members workforce development and training opportunities through educational seminars.
Overview
As a small organization, we are looking for a dynamic and organized Marketing Coordinator with a passion for promoting Finger Lakes wine. Working directly with the Executive Director, this part-time position will help execute the organization’s annual program of work. This role combines marketing, event planning, partnership development, and administrative support to ensure the success of FLWA programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Program of Work Support
● Provide logistical and administrative support for FLWA annual program of work (in-person events, workshops, virtual seminars, trade gatherings, etc), including communication with participants, vendor coordination, and on-site support.
● Manage the execution of the Wine Submission program including coordinating member participation, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining relationships with key publications.
Marketing and Communications
● Develop and manage marketing campaigns, including digital content creation, email marketing, and social media engagement.
● Update and maintain the FLWA website, ensuring accurate and engaging content for trade and media audiences.
● Analyze marketing data to measure campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
Partnership and Member Support
● Cultivate and maintain Associate Partner program, including identifying new partnership opportunities, and coordinating with established partners to ensure delivery of program benefits.
● Manage and update the FLWA’s CRM system (e.g., Insightly) for accurate record-keeping of member wineries, partners, and program participation.
● Support member wineries with resources and tools to enhance participation in FLWA programs.
Administrative Support
● Handle day-to-day tasks such as notetaking, drafting communications, and maintaining shared work documents.
● Ensure timely and efficient communication with members, partners, and other stakeholders.
● Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting marketing data to measure campaign effectiveness.
● Miscellaneous office administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
● Strong working wine knowledge required, credentialed wine certification a plus.
● Familiarity with the Finger Lakes wine region strongly preferred.
● Degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in marketing, event planning, or program support in the wine, hospitality, or nonprofit sectors preferred.
● Proficiency in Google Suite, CRM platforms (e.g., Insightly), and basic design tools (e.g., Canva).
● Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently while supporting a small, collaborative team.
● Must have a valid NY drivers license.
● Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable with physical activities.
Additional Considerations
● Hours: 30 hours per week.
● Location: Office work in Geneva, NY 25%, Remote work 75%
● Travel: Occasional travel required for events or meetings, some evenings and weekends.
● Compensation: $23-$25/hr based on qualifications and experience
