The Sports Marketing Coordinator will assist in marketing premium product lines featuring athletes, manage branding projects, and coordinate promotional activities to engage fans and enhance product visibility.

SUMMARY Overview of the position

The Marketing team is looking for a positive-minded, detail-oriented self-starter to support premium product lines featuring top NBA, NHL, PGA, AEW athletes and other talent. The Sports Marketing Coordinator position will be a key contributor to memorabilia marketing initiatives and athlete branding opportunities, which include strategy and execution of product support materials, social media content, videos, digital catalogs, gifs, advertising campaigns, fan engagement, community outreach, website content, banners, product announcements and sponsorship assets. The position will also provide detailed metrics and analytics for all campaigns. The Sports Marketing Coordinator will report to the Senior Sports Marketing Manager and will regularly work with the Director of Marketing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with product, design and Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) teams to develop and manage a marketing calendar to support Upper Deck’s campaigns
  • Develop omni-channel brand awareness and conversion campaigns to support UDA memorabilia products and programs
  • Identify new media, advocacy and partnership opportunities to support UDA and manage the day-to-day relationship and asset distribution
  • Help facilitate asset ideation, creation and execution, including approval process
  • Develop creative briefs and coordinate banners, ads and other graphics
  • Develop creative briefs and manage timelines for production of printed assets, including signage, mailings, catalogs, print ads, promos, etc
  • Identify key influential figures in the memorabilia and sports space and develop ways to collaborate.
  • Manage UDA Release Calendar and Talent Signing Calendar in Project Management Tool
  • Work closely with UDA and Talent Acquisitions team and provide assets for athlete signings including branded decor, promos, video crew, interview questions, etc
  • Ideate organic promotional ideas that provide community engagement and program awareness
  • Coordinates contests and promotional sweepstakes programs, including obtaining legal approvals, acquiring and delivering sweepstakes prizes, coordinating related promotional events and interfacing with sweepstakes winners.
  • Collaborate with Content, Digital Marketing, and Sports Marketing Team to create fresh UDA and athlete related content that highlights Upper Deck athletes, celebrates their milestones, and markets existing and upcoming memorabilia products
  • Collaborate and support the content team with messaging for the content and creative assets for UDA related social, including video
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Team for SEO, product releases on the website, scheduling paid digital campaigns and emails
  • Assist with compiling and reporting of key marketing metrics and analytics
  • Develop post-campaign review of results and recommendations.
  • Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team/department performance


EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of marketing experience
  • Sports and/or collecting industry experience a plus

  • Experience with WordPress Blog publishing a plus
  • Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment
  • Hands-on, energetic and motivated self-starter
