Position Overview:
The Field Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing impactful marketing strategies in the field, ensuring alignment with both national and regional objectives. Reporting to the VP, Marketing, this role will manage the execution of large-scale national campaigns while tailoring initiatives to local market needs in CO, MI, MO, and IA. The Field Marketing Manager will oversee a team of Brand Specialists, lead in-store activations and market-specific events, track key performance metrics, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. This individual will ensure brand consistency across regions, build strong relationships with retail partners, and lead market-specific event activations to boost brand visibility and product awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign & Market Plan Development:
- Collaborate with the VP of Marketing, Marketing Project Manager, and Sales Teams to develop and execute market-specific go-to-market plans and marketing calendars.
- Lead the execution of campaigns that include product launches, retail activations, in-field events, and budtender education programs.
- Manage marketing timelines and ensure that campaigns align with sales and product team goals.
Regional & Retail Execution:
- Customize and implement national marketing campaigns to align with regional market dynamics while maintaining brand consistency.
- Develop and sustain relationships with retail locations, ensuring flawless execution of marketing programs and compliance with Bud & Mary's brand standards.
- Manage in-store merchandising, product visibility, and promotional materials.
Brand Education & Training:
- Lead brand education efforts by training sales teams and budtenders on product differentiation, cannabis education, and Bud & Mary’s product offerings.
- Build out, distribute, and monitor the effectiveness of product and brand education modules through the Learn Brands and SEED Talent platforms.
- Accountable for executing Perfect Store Audits (PSA) and ensuring KPIs are met by coordinating with Brand Ambassadors.
Event Activation & Field Marketing:
- Plan and execute market-specific events, vendor days, and special promotions to drive consumer engagement and enhance brand visibility.
- Manage the activation of campaigns at retail locations, ensuring high-quality execution of in-store promotions and event activations.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track key performance metrics (KPIs) including sales growth, event attendance, and consumer engagement, using insights to adjust and optimize marketing strategies.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership, offering actionable recommendations for future campaigns.
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Management:
- Conduct regular retail visits to gather market intelligence, track product performance, and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers and managers.
- Monitor and report on emerging market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
Compliance & Regulation:
- Ensure all marketing and field activities comply with state cannabis regulations and industry standards, including maintaining proper certifications and badging.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in field marketing, brand management, or retail marketing, preferably within the cannabis, CPG, or consumer goods industries.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of field marketing professionals, ensuring alignment with national and regional strategies.
- Strong experience managing in-store promotions, retail events, and product activations.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to track, report, and optimize marketing performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and retail clients.
- Ability to travel up to 30% across CO, MI, MO, and IA.
