LOCATION

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, or a related field, 3-5 years of marketing experience with a focus on multimedia production and digital marketing, strong writing and communication skills, proficiency in digital marketing tools, and skills in multimedia production software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement marketing strategies for the Utah Olympic Oval, manage the marketing budget, create engaging digital content for social media, handle public relations efforts, plan and execute marketing for events, and foster community relationships to increase participation and support for the organization.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will enhance awareness and revenue for the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation through strategic marketing, multimedia initiatives, and public relations, focusing on engaging youth and communities in winter sports.
About the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation
The Utah Athletic Foundation (dba Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization formed after the successful hosting of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Its unique purpose centers on fostering growth of winter sport in the State of Utah and to effectively manage the Utah Olympic Park, Utah Olympic Oval, and Soldier Hollow venues.

Overview
The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation’s vision is to bring to life the Olympic & Paralympic spirit in our youth, our communities, and athletes from around the world. Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with the Marketing Director to enhance awareness, utilization, and revenue for all Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation programs, sport events, and overall initiatives. The Marketing and Communication Manager will develop and implement marketing strategies, brand messaging, and multimedia initiatives. This position will also manage PR and communications efforts that promote the Foundation.
Objectives of this Role
Work with Marketing Director to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the Utah Olympic Oval, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maximizing visibility, participation, and revenue opportunities.
- Manage and implement marketing strategies, including promotions, product development, and advertising opportunities.
- Oversee the marketing budget, track performance metrics, and analyze results to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaborate GMs and departments to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
Work with the Marketing Coordinator and marketing team to create engaging digital content across social media platforms, ensuring consistent brand presence, while tracking performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Ensure the UOLF website and social media channels are dynamic and regularly updated, driving visitation, participation, and revenue through engaging and effective digital content.
- Contribute tothe content calendar and direct social media strategy and content production, including photography, videography, and blog posts.
- Support CRM and email marketing, while actively growing customer and prospect lists.
- Track and analyze social media performance to identify new opportunities for online initiatives and promotions. Create social analytics reports for internal use and external presentation
- Capture lifestyle and candid photography and video for social media content purposes
Manage public relations efforts, including media relations, press releases, and communication strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
- Extend UOLF brand awareness and presence. Develop a compelling public relations vision and plan featuring UOLF milestones
- Track annual media coverage and growth trends year over year
- Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries at all three venues and manage all press releases, media requests, and PR materials.
- Coordinate media relations for special events, acting as the on-site spokesperson.
- Oversee the UOLF’s digital media kit and ensure effective communication with the press.
- Develop communications strategies to present and promote sport programs, public activities and to highlight staff and athletes.
- Write and copy edit a range of materials including web content, press releases, fundraising requests, sport program descriptions and more.
- Develop story ideas and pitches to keep UOLF in news cycle outside of traditional windows.
Plan and execute marketing strategies for events, ensuring successful promotion, attendance, and overall event execution.
- Lead promotional efforts for national, international, and community events, including planning and execution.
- Manage event-level marketing plans, budgets, and coordination with internal teams to ensure success.
- Track event performance and attendance, providing recommendations for future improvements.
Foster community relationships and promote engagement with sport programs and events to increase participation and support for the organization.
- Act as a community liaison, attending meetings, integrating Oval programs, and promoting events.
- Assist in the Utah Sport for Life Initiative, working with department managers to increase participation in sport programs at the Oval.
- Perform speaking engagements and maintain the facility’s image and presentation to the public.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Flexible work schedule – must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
- Travel may be required for meetings, training, or other work-related events at other venues.
- Must be able to stand on feet for extended time, as well as, able to lift 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing - to converse with other is a normal conversation.
- Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
Required Knowledge and Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on multimedia production and digital marketing.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, email marketing software).
- Strong understanding of multimedia production processes and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro).
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Creative thinker with an eye for design and storytelling.
- Ability to analyze marketing data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Positive attitude and participative work style with an ability to receive feedback, work creatively, effectively, and collaboratively in a fast-paced and varied work environment.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills with a high standard of quality, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
