BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience, excellent communication and creative thinking skills, experience in project management, strong organizational and customer service skills, knowledge of digital marketing tools, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

Marketing Manager Job Description
The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society (BGWCHS) is seeking to hire a Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is highly engaged in animal welfare and 100% dedicated to our Mission: “To improve the lives of animals and people through advocacy, education, and support.” This candidate understands that their efforts in designing and overseeing marketing campaigns across multiple platforms also support our Vision: A better world for all animals.
The Marketing Manager is a take-charge, animal-loving professional capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining a brand, works efficiently and effectively in a team environment, takes direction from the Executive Director, and takes full ownership of assigned projects from idea through fruition. Must demonstrate positive energy and great flexibility, have a pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment, be able to anticipate project needs, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt quickly to changes.
Responsibilities
● Social Media
o Manage multiple BGWCHS social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant
o Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks that establishes and maintains consistent tone and messaging across all BGWCHS-affiliated social media
o Explore new ways to engage and identify supporters through new content or networks
o Develop engaging content to celebrate and express gratitude to grantors and sponsors, while ensuring alignment with grant requirements and showcasing the impact of their contributions.
● Online Fundraising & Event Management
o Utilize GiveSmart, BGWCHS’s virtual fundraising and event management software, to manage the digital aspects of fundraising events such as Fur Ball and Rescue on the Rocks Bourbon Raffle, and engage BGWCHS supporters
o Communicate with donors and event attendees through email and text messaging software
o Keep the BGWCHS website up-to-date with latest events & fundraising opportunities, as well as ensure appropriate recognition for sponsors and donors
● Public Relations
o Proactively identify opportunities to compose and distribute press releases/media alerts/pitches
o Coordinate media appearances with local news outlets to promote events, happenings, and special appeals
o Represent BGWCHS at public-facing events and media appearances as needed
o Appear on necessary broadcast and video interviews and provide statements for printed media
o Work with staff to coordinate volunteer staffing, dog appearances, and logistics as needed for public-facing and media events
o Field all requests for brand partnerships and collaborations and facilitate partnerships that directly support or advance the BGWCHS mission and goals.
● Project Management
o Capitalize on annual membership mailer by creating a full-scale membership drive with traditional and social media, website tie-in, mailings, and other methods deemed necessary
o Create and execute additional fundraising campaigns with traditional and social media, such as September to Remember Match Campaign, Giving Tuesday, Spring supply drive, Year-End Christmas card, etc.
o Design and implement innovative marketing campaigns to help promote animals with a longer-than-average length of stay for adoption.
o Coordinate and implement shelter tours and school programs by creating, training, and leading a team of willing staff members and volunteers.
o Coordinate BGWCHS annual calendar by facilitating communication with pet owners, photographers, designer, & printer
Requirements
● BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
● Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
● Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with a large and diverse shelter team.
● Experience managing multiple projects and adhering to deadlines.
● Clear copywriting and editing skills.
● Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
● Experience designing branded content. This person must create assets for the digital space that are mobile-, tablet-, and desktop-friendly and provide a user experience that fits on all three screens.
● An understanding of digital marketing tools and tactics.
● Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite or similar design technologies.
● Bonus experience with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript is a major plus.
● A strong understanding of how to craft and communicate a powerful narrative across multiple platforms.
● Ability to work comfortably and calmly around dogs, cats, and other animals.
● Passion for the well-being of all creatures, both two- and four-legged.
