Job Description
The Strategic Marketing team is responsible for leading execution of and maximizing effectiveness across all of U.S. Rheumatology as it relates to the following focus areas: Congresses, Sponsorships, Speaker Programs and External Consulting arrangements. This group works collaboratively with other U.S. Commercial Rheumatology teams to establish and manage strategies derived from brand plans, create annual plans related to the above focus areas, and work alongside AbbVie internal functions to support flawless execution.
The Marketing Manager I/II, Rheumatology Advisory Board and Sponsorships position will have responsibility for leading Advisory Board and Sponsorship strategy and planning across Rheumatology in collaboration with functional partners. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with Brand Teams, Internal and External Agencies, Medical, Regulatory, Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI), Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Patient Advocacy in order to plan, execute, and create materials for various advisory board material. This position will be leveled at a Grade 18-19 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the integrated strategy and annual planning process for Advisory Boards across all Rheumatology indications.
- Oversee and lead cross-functional teams in order to execute upon Advisory Board objectives.
- Manage and oversee agency execution and accountability of advisory board content and logistics (including location, travel, etc). Oversee approval of Statements of Work / Purchase Orders, including coordination with relevant vendors and other logistics, as required.
- Manage the cross-franchise Sponsorship master calendar to ensure timelines, logistics and attendance objectives are met for national and marketing-sponsored meetings. Analyze, manage, and execute Sponsorship opportunities
- Partner with patient advocacy and professional organization to identify Sponsorship opportunities outside of congress opportunities to support patients with Rheumatologic conditions.
- Ensure maximum benefits are being received from Sponsorship opportunities including tracking and sharing internally with the appropriate teams
- Continually contribute to process and capability innovation through assessments and recommendations
- Stay current on all processes and procedures related to advisory boards and Sponsorships
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures related to planning and executing Advisory Boards and Sponsorships, in collaboration with OEC
- Participate in the annual budgeting process to ensure appropriate funding in order to deliver on brand objectives, including management of this budget
- Continually seek out best practices from other AbbVie franchises
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Marketing experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority
- Computer skills, MS Office and third-party software as needed
- Solid business acumen, including budget management
Preferred:
- Knowledge of AbbVie policies, procedures, culture, and other brand team operations
- Knowledge and experience in Rheumatology markets
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (Client or Agency)
- Advisory Board and Sponsorship management experience desired (Client or Agency)
