SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Specialist will develop and execute branding strategies to grow donor base, increase foot traffic, and enhance public knowledge of Habitat for Humanity's mission while collaborating with the Development team and managing marketing campaigns.

Basic Function:

Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing and Events, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing messaging and branding strategies for the affiliate and ReStore. This includes public relations efforts, expanding the affiliate’s online presence, and creating marketing materials that increase donor awareness.

The primary goals for this role include growing the donor base, increasing customer foot traffic, expanding brand awareness, and enhancing public knowledge of Habitat’s mission: building strength, stability, self-reliance, and affordable housing. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who can develop innovative ways to increase exposure and engagement while adhering to HFHI’s branding guidelines and HFHMM’s core values. This role collaborates closely with the Development team and ReStore management, implements marketing campaigns, and establishes benchmarks to evaluate the ROI of marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Research & Strategy:

· Analyze past and current affiliate and ReStore marketing efforts, including social media and other platform

· Stay updated on HFHI ReStore marketing guidelines and best practices.· Research successful local nonprofit marketing campaigns (e.g., Community Forklift, A Wider Circle, Donation Nation).
Marketing Plan Development:

· Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing plan for the affiliate and current/future ReStore locations, effectively utilizing the marketing budget to achieve the following objectives:

o Increase foot traffic and sales volume

o Grow social media followers

o Expand reach to donor households

o Enhance brand awareness of Habitat ReStore’s local impact

o Boost in-kind and monetary donations

Content Creation & Management:

· Create and update marketing materials for the affiliate and ReStore as needed.

· Maintain a 12-month marketing calendar

.· Update and refine marketing procedures and manuals.

· Manage affiliate and ReStore social media accounts and online communication channels.

Public Relations & Event Promotion:

· Coordinate public relations efforts, including drafting press releases and media alerts

.· Maintain and grow media contact relationships

.· Create and promote materials for affiliate and ReStore events.
Analytics & Reporting:

· Monitor and report on marketing metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and ROI

.· Provide regular updates to the Associate Director of Development and ReStore management.

Other Duties:

· Perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

· Minimum of three years of experience in events, marketing, and/or public relations.

· Strong understanding of marketing strategies, including traditional and digital approaches (e.g., SEO, SEM, SMO, and SMM).

· Familiarity with nonprofit marketing and community engagement is preferred.

· Excellent communication and writing skills.

· Proficiency in MS Office, marketing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads).

· Experience managing social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and X.

· Demonstrated ability to manage digital ads including Google Grant Ads, Google Ads, and Social Media Ads.

· Experience with Constant Contact is a plus.

· Well-organized and detail-oriented.

· Strong project management and organizational skills.

· Must have driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
