Job Description

  • Full-time, Non-Exempt Hourly Employee

I. Position Overview

  • Responsible for developing membership sales and membership marketing functions of the association to achieve the membership goals set by the association’s Board of Directors,

Strategic Plan and Membership Committee.

  • Responsible for working with association Member Benefit Partners and increasing member participation in those programs.
  • Knowledgeable of the Association’s bylaws, policies & procedures and processes as they relate to the events and committees/councils of the Association.
  • Responsible for the development, management and execution of Association membership.
  • Will assist in executing and maintain Master Builders’ Sponsorship Program, which includes but is not limited to the following duties: meeting with committees to identify and secure sponsorships; work with members to secure timely sponsorship payments; secure logos for all sponsors; and ensure customers receive the benefits associated with their sponsorship.
  • Will manage the Membership Services and Programs Assistant to assist with all membership, program, councils and events duties.

II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General

  • Works closely with the Executive Officer to ensure association member services are being recognized, understood and utilized; identify and develop new services as needed
  • Develop MBAPC membership marketing materials, Benefit Partner advertising materials and sponsorship campaign materials with Communications Director.
  • Write articles and provide information for newsletter, e-news, and website
  • Coordinate w/ NAHB/BIAW re: marketing materials, national benefits, membership campaigns and drives, campaign reporting and membership conferences.
  • Possess knowledge of the association’s bylaws, policies & procedures and processes as they relate to membership of the association.
  • General office duties include answering the phone, general email and mail
  • Assists with answering phones.

Membership & Benefits

  • Recruit new members to MBAPC by working with existing member referrals, attending community events and functions.
  • Research prospects and members for future business connections to help open doors and grow membership base.
  • Attend MBAPC meetings and events to interact with current and potential members.
  • Staff the Membership & Spike Club including meeting materials, planning, minutes and communication to Committee members.
  • Prepare new member on-boarding materials and benefit enrollment materials.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and managing membership, Benefit Partner and sponsorship budgets upon adoption by the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in development and implementation of the Strategic Plan, including preparation of detailed recruitment and retention plans.
  • Work closely with Member Benefit Partners to understand and promote these programs to members and ensure Partners participation in MBAPC programs and events, stay informed on requirements, due dates, advertising schedules and contract agreements.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records with NAHB/BIAW, submitting NAHB Membership and Remodelors Council reports on monthly basis.
  • Review NAHB membership records/reports to maintain accuracy (member records, spike points, changes, council reports).
  • BOD Reports-prepare reports/information for membership, spike, retention, recruiting, benefit participation on monthly basis.
  • Staff liaison for Member Benefit programs, ROII, GRIP, BIAW Health Trust programs providing support and input to EO and members.
  • Work with BIAW on membership campaigns/drives, state benefits, state BOD Meetings(attend Membership/Spike, Associates).
  • Staffs member retention efforts-call, email cancelled, expiring members and those coming up for renewal.
  • Staff liaison to the BIAW and regarding membership and retention programs and awards.
  • Monitor contracts & contract requirements for all partners (BIAW Health Trust/EPK, GRIP,ROII Select, Member Advantage, Associated Petroleum).
  • Stay in contact with all programs’ representatives with regards to promotions, due dates, requirements, MBA involvement.
  • Review all marketing materials prepared for GRIP and/or develop MBAPC specific marketing with Communications Director.
  • Work with MBAKS staff to market, provide information, track GRIP.
  • Maintain MBAPC Member database of GRIP Participants/ track enrollment requirement fulfillment.
  • Work with members inquiring about GRIP, ROII and BIAW Health with regards to enrollment, claims & general questions.
  • Verify and distribute GRIP refund checks to members in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all member and outside inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for database entry including membership records, calendar information and invoicing information.

Membership Events

  • Coordinate with Association committees as needed to set each event's budget, program, logistics (including scheduling speakers), and décor, with particular attention to financial and time constraints.
  • Secure venues and execute formal contracts for all event locations.
  • Coordinate with Master Builders’ Communications Director to create a formal marketing plan for each event, prepare appropriate marketing materials, and create production schedules for all events.
  • Plan and implement membership specific events and campaigns such as Meet & Greets, membership drives, New Member Orientations, Lunch and Learns, Micro-Meet Ups, General Membership Meetings and Member Appreciation Day.
  • Personally communicate with prospective event participants and answer questions concerning the details of the event.
  • Create and maintain electronic and/or manual recordkeeping systems to track event sales, participation, and other metrics as necessary to ensure accurate recordkeeping for each event.
  • Work closely with all vendors for each event to ensure smooth execution.
  • Be responsible for all pre-event, event and post-event logistics on-site.
  • Coordinate agenda / minutes / registration for monthly meetings and events.
  • Work evening and weekend hours as necessary to ensure event success.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Executive Officer.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands listed below are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds and perform other physical requirements necessary for event execution, including some set up and tear down tasks.

III. Reporting

  • Supervision of this position shall be the responsibility of the Executive Officer and the annual performance evaluation shall be done by the Executive Officer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
