SHORT DESCRIPTION

Pine Lake Country Club is looking for a Membership and Marketing Director to enhance member relations and implement effective marketing strategies, ensuring the Club remains a premier destination for families and professionals.

Pine Lake Country Club seeks a personable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, experienced, successful membership and marketing professional with superb written and verbal communication skills. This candidate will report to the General Manager. He/she will play an integral role in the Club’s Leadership Team and interface with the Board of Directors.

Club Information
The Pine Lake Country Club is the country club destination in Oakland County, Michigan. Pine Lake is a full-service, family-focused club conveniently located in the beautiful suburb of Orchard Lake, twenty minutes from Downtown Detroit. Amenities include an 18-hole Willie Park Jr. designed golf course, driving range and putting practice area, heated swimming pool with a vibrant swim team, fitness center with stretching area, strength equipment, and cardio machines. There are 4 outdoor Har-tru hydro tennis courts, one outdoor hard court, which is also used for pickleball, and four indoor tennis courts in a newly renovated indoor tennis facility. Fine dining and banquet/meeting rooms are available in the clubhouse, along with men’s and ladies’ locker rooms. The Patio and newly built Terrace offer casual alfresco dining with picturesque views of private, all-sports Pine Lake. The club also owns 60 boat slips on Pine Lake for our members. The Membership and Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and growing the membership programs at Pine Lake.

Job Summary

  • Develops positive member relations with an exceptional service ethic, responsiveness, and respect.
  • Provides a visible presence and is accessible to the membership to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Develops and implements a Membership & Marketing Plan with marketing and sales strategies/programs/goals designed to increase membership sales and the promotion of a positive Club image.
  • Leads recruitment, orientation, and retention efforts.
  • Handles membership reporting, communications, and correspondence.
  • Maintains professional relationships with other club professionals and represents the Club in its relationships with external constituencies, as needed.
  • Attends Club events as needed.
  • Leads and attends Membership Committee Meetings, attends Executive Committee and Board Meetings as needed.
  • Organizes and updates the Club’s historical records.
  • Develops and/or manages the Club’s marketing and communications materials and processes, contributing written work and amending/editing the work of others.
  • Sustains and protects the brand for consistent representation.
  • Produces all Club communications, both internal and external. including the use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram and X.
  • Works closely with the entire Operations Team to coordinate a full team effort in the recruitment and retention of members.
  • Coordinates special projects and other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications Required to Support Responsibilities

  • A passion for providing high-quality member service and commitment to excellence.
  • Outgoing personality, high energy, strong work ethic, flexibility, and a passion for success.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, CRM, and Adobe software packages.
  • Prior use of club management software systems is helpful. (Pine Lake CC uses Northstar)
  • Excellence in writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to study and analyze problems and the ability to formulate manageable solutions.
  • Two or three years of experience in the field of membership sales, marketing, customer relations, communications, hospitality sales or private club experience preferred.
