Reports to: Content Marketing Manager

Department: Sales and Marketing

Location: Remote: California, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii, Florida or Oklahoma

Location Status: Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee will be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to applicable procedures. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.

Summary:

As a Motion Graphics Designer, you will play a key role in creating engaging and high-quality motion graphics and animations for a variety of digital platforms, including social media, advertisements, and video content. You will work closely with the creative team, including designers and video producers, to develop concepts and bring them to life, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and project goals. Your expertise in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other Creative Suite programs will be critical in producing compelling visuals that effectively communicate messages and enhance user experiences. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions, and stay updated on industry trends to continually refine and elevate the quality of your work.

This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent experience in a related field of study is preferred
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience in a motion graphics role required, recent graduates with a strong portfolio and proven work history encouraged to apply
  • Strong design skills in both still and motion graphics required
  • Proficient in video editing, production, and post-production workflows required
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator required
  • Portfolio demonstrating motion graphics and animation work required
  • Demonstrated understanding of motion design principles, typography, and visual storytelling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 2D and 3D design techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to and uphold brand guidelines and standards
  • Experienced with project management software such as Asana required
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
  • Proficiency in Spanish Language desirable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Motion Graphics and Animation Creation:

  • Design and produce dynamic motion and still graphics and animations for various digital platforms, including social media ads, websites, video content, and TV commercials
  • Coordinates and executes production of digital ads to support demand generation and marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives and brand standards
  • Create compelling visuals and animations that align with the brand's messaging and creative vision
  • Incorporate storytelling principles into animations to enhance viewer engagement and communicate the intended message effectively

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with designers, video producers, and other team members to bring concepts and ideas to life
  • Collaborate with marketing, advertising, and content teams to ensure motion graphics align with overall campaign goals and brand identity
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions, offering creative solutions and ideas to enhance project outcomes
  • Collaborate with in-house graphic designer to produce dynamic visuals that enhance marketing campaigns, digital content, and brand storytelling
  • Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into visual concepts

Software Proficiency and Technical Expertise:

  • Use industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other animation tools to create high-quality motion graphics
  • Stay updated on software developments, new tools, and techniques to continually improve design skills and animation quality
  • Introduce fresh and innovative design concepts that push the creative boundaries while staying aligned with project objectives and brand identity
  • Apply knowledge of 2D and 3D design principles, ensuring that animations are visually striking and technically proficient

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring each is completed on time and meets the specified requirements
  • Utilize Asana to track progress, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Organize assets and files, maintaining a streamlined and efficient workflow to support project deadlines

Branding Consistency and Quality Control:

  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines, ensuring all motion graphics align with the company's visual identity and tone
  • Adapt and optimize motion graphics for various formats and platforms (social media, websites, television) while ensuring the creative intent is maintained
  • Present initial design concepts and revisions to designers, creative directors, and clients for feedback
  • Revise and refine motion graphics based on feedback to improve quality, meet project requirements, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Ideate on designs to improve and adjust animations based on evolving project needs or feedback from team members
  • Ensure the final output of motion graphics meets high-quality standards in terms of resolution, color, timing, and composition
  • Review animations for any potential issues before final delivery, ensuring there are no technical errors or inconsistencies

Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:

  • Follows Sales and Marketing team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
  • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
  • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
  • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
  • Support routine tasks

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Chico, Farmersville, Lancaster, North Palm Springs, Phelan, Pleasant Hill, San Francisco, Tehachapi, and Yuba City, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary; you may not work full 8-hour days and there may be off days. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
