An Internet Automotive Sales Representative is responsible for selling vehicles and related products to customers primarily through online channels. This role combines traditional sales duties with digital communication tools, requiring a blend of automotive knowledge, sales skills, and proficiency in digital platforms.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation:

    • Respond to online inquiries from potential customers about vehicles, financing options, and product details via email, live chat, or social media.
    • Generate new leads through online advertising, website engagement, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Customer Engagement:

    • Engage with customers by answering questions about vehicle specifications, features, availability, pricing, and promotions.
    • Follow up on inbound internet sales leads to schedule appointments, show cars (virtually or in person), and discuss trade-in options.
  • Vehicle Knowledge:

    • Stay updated on the latest inventory, vehicle specifications, pricing, and available promotions.
    • Provide accurate information on all vehicle makes and models to assist customers in making informed buying decisions.
  • Sales Process Management:

    • Guide customers through the entire sales process, including vehicle selection, financing options, trade-in evaluation, and final purchase.
    • Close deals remotely or in person by processing paperwork and coordinating with finance departments for loan approvals and payment plans.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM):

    • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and progress in CRM software.
    • Manage and nurture long-term relationships with online customers, ensuring their needs are met and encouraging repeat business.
  • Virtual Presentations:

    • Conduct virtual product demonstrations via video calls to showcase vehicle features and benefits.
    • Provide personalized virtual tours and offer detailed walkarounds for customers unable to visit the dealership.
  • Follow-Up and Closing:

    • Follow up with leads and prospects through phone calls, emails, or text messages to ensure satisfaction, answer any questions, and close sales.
    • Coordinate test drives, either virtually or in person, depending on customer preferences.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the in-house sales team, service department, and finance team to ensure a seamless online buying experience for customers.
    • Coordinate vehicle deliveries to customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in automotive sales or a customer-facing sales role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive products, trends, and the car buying process.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with CRM software and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize customer needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Basic understanding of online marketing and social media platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with online automotive sales platforms (e.g., CarGurus, Autotrader,KBB etc.).
  • Familiarity with digital lead-generation tools and techniques.
  • Familiar with KBB ICO

Work Environment:

  • Must be comfortable with technology, including video conferencing software and CRM systems.
