SHORT DESCRIPTION

Assist in marketing lead generation and support for CAP by implementing strategies that enhance community visibility and effectively communicate CAP's mission and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will assist in all areas of marketing lead generation and marketing support. They will be comfortable in maintaining various marketing campaigns and have a creative skillset which enables them to brainstorm new initiatives. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility and impact of CAP within the community, and will develop and implement marketing strategies that effectively communicate CAP's mission and initiatives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement successful marketing campaigns.
  • Address diverse audiences, and represent CAP in the media as necessary.
  • Design marketing collateral - electronic and print versions.
  • Create and edit photographs and short videos for social media.
  • Post and update social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Create and send email campaigns and regular newsletters.
  • Make website updates, including banners, graphics, and descriptions of events, services, and programs.
  • Attends events and takes photographs and videos to share on social media and website.
  • Develops high-quality, professional presentations, letters, press releases, and reports that target the intended audience.
  • Responds with high engagement and respect to marketing inquiries, social media messages, reviews, and comments.
  • Assists in creating new ideas, concepts, and promotions for CAP programs, including special events, volunteer & foster recruitment, FCAP, and humane education. Works with relevant coordinators on the success of their ideas as they relate to marketing, communication, and print/digital media.
  • Attends marketing-related webinars, conferences, and classes to explore new concepts in community engagement.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and success of a marketing and communications plan ensuring increased visibility and consistent branding for CAP with the public, donors, clients, volunteers, and other key consistencies.
  • Responds to public inquiries as appropriate.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be experienced in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and Nextdoor.
  • Past knowledge of animal welfare initiatives and programs is preferred.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills are required, including experience writing press releases.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and Video Editing. Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge and PetPoint are a plus.
  • Comfortable handling animals of all sizes.
  • Comfortable and willing to speak publicly, including being interviewed as a representative of CAP.

Environmental Conditions:

  • May include noisy environments, including barking and other animal noises
  • May include pungent smells from animal caretaking
  • Includes small and/or enclosed spaces

Required education and experience:

  • 2 years of experience managing complex, quick-paced marketing projects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
