Seeking a motivated Office Assistant/Community Engagement Specialist to combine administrative support with community outreach to promote Kumon programs and support academic growth.
Job Summary:
Kumon Math and Reading of Broken Arrow is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Office Assistant/Community Engagement Specialist. This role combines administrative support with community outreach efforts to promote Kumon programs, engage with families, and support students in their academic growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and passionate about education and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:Administrative Support:
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting families, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
- Maintain and update student records, attendance, and progress reports.
- Assist with class preparation, including organizing worksheets, student materials, and reports.
- Use Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Calendar) for organizing tasks, sharing resources, and maintaining efficient communication
- Support the Instructor with administrative tasks to ensure the center runs smoothly.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local schools, organizations, and community partners.
- Plan and execute outreach initiatives, such as informational sessions, local events, and parent workshops.
- Create content for newsletters, social media, and promotional materials to engage with current and prospective families.
- Gather feedback from parents and community members to improve engagement and services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in education, communication, or a related field is a plus.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in office administration, customer service, or community outreach; experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Kumon programs or similar academic enrichment programs is a bonus.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage families and students.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic familiarity with social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) is required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A friendly, professional demeanor with a passion for education and community engagement.
- Availability to work during center after school hours.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off-site events and community outreach.
Work Environment:
- Based at Kumon Math and Reading of Broken Arrow.
- Interaction with students, parents, and community members in a collaborative and educational setting.
- Occasional travel to local schools or events for outreach purposes.
