Experience in sports marketing, proficiency in MiLB’s Forge, Adobe Creative Suite, strong understanding of social media platforms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Oversee online paid marketing, email and text marketing, promote brand initiatives, manage media relations, create digital content, develop email campaigns, manage social media advertising, and assist with community relations initiatives.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
This role focuses on enhancing the Durham Bulls' online presence through paid marketing, media relations, and community engagement while assisting in the overall marketing efforts of the team.
- Work to actively promote all community and brand initiatives for the Durham Bulls with all CBC assets, as well as other media outlets.
- Responsible for planning Media Day with coordination of the Marketing Department.
- Content creator with other members of the marketing staff for all other team publications, website and social media.
- Develop and execute crisis communication plan for social media and all media in case of emergencies or negative publicity related to team, weather, or public crisis.
- Responsible for the media relations of the club, including working with the media, handling credential requests, and other duties as assigned.
- Proactively work to engage the media with team news, promotional news, storylines, community impact.
- Responsible for distributing stat packets, rosters, lineups to media, as well as to guest relations locations on game day.
- Responsible for writing and updating media guide and keeping team specific content on the website up to date.
- Main contributor and creative of the Durham Bulls podcast.
- Assist with website content, including two stories per week and writing a team blog.
- Write one feature story for each game day program per homestand.
- Content creator with other members of the marketing staff for all other team publications, website and social media.
- Writing game recap stories / press releases and handling distribution for all games.
- Other media / communication responsibilities as assigned.
- Manage and execute the planning of coinciding email campaigns to complement social media efforts and reach a wider audience. This includes developing email content, managing email lists, and tracking campaign performance.
- Provide feedback on winning solutions and benchmarks to optimize future campaigns and improve overall marketing effectiveness.
- Work to build the fan universe of the Durham Bulls through email campaigns, Fan Compass campaigns and targeted social marketing posts.
- Work to develop a database strategy for all emails and campaigns utilizing data and StellarAlgo resources.
- Work with Director of Creative Services and Assistant General Manager to develop branding and marketing campaigns and calendar that supports all revenue and branding areas of the Durham Bulls.
- Responsible for assisting with online advertising placement and tracking of results.
- Manage and optimize paid social media advertising campaigns to reach new audiences and drive engagement, focusing on targeting fans interested in team news, awards, Tampa Bay Ray roster moves, and relevant game content.
- Serve as backup to Manager, Website & Social Content for posting to social media channels.
- Expected to work and assist all events held at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
- Other general Front Office duties – including assisting with hiring events, special events, pulling tarp and other general duties involving working in a Minor League Front Office.
- Assist with creating team community relations initiatives, as well as the execution and promotion of such events.
- Experience working or proficiency in MiLB’s Forge, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Premiere, and In-Design
- Experience with graphic design, video editing and social media.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and their algorithms
- Passion for baseball and a strong understanding of the sport, including the ability to stay up-to-date with team news, awards, Tampa Bay Ray roster moves, and relevant game content.
- Basic understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite and basic video editing skills. This includes proficiency in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. The ability to create visually appealing graphics, edit videos, and design layouts will be essential for producing high-quality content.
- Experience in sports marketing or sports media
- Knowledge of graphic design or video editing software
- Experience with social media analytics tools
- A deep understanding of baseball rules, statistics, and current trends
- Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
- Familiarity with SEO best practices
- Experience with email marketing platforms
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
- People oriented, able to multi-task, be organized, motivated and detail focused
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and all events.
