Conduct outside sales of fiberglass pipe, perform market research, cold call potential leads, develop sales plans, create and present proposals, maintain customer relationships, and track sales activities in CRM.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Pipe Salesperson is responsible for expanding the sales of fiberglass pipe beyond the cooling tower market through lead generation, market research, and building customer relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Sales Calls:
- Research leads and record lead information into our sales tracking system.
- Cold calling activities to obtain specific information/names and qualified leads from Customer switchboard/receptionists.
- Qualify leads through discussions with potential buyers to understand use of pipe and tanks.
- Tracking sales activities, successes, and follow up in CRM system.
- Schedule times and routes for visiting clients at minimum every other week.
- Customer site visits.
- Research for any customer requests.
- Development of proposals from client conversations and requests.
- Regular follow up with customers on proposals.
- Send basic email marketing to client after initial calls.
- Work with customer to understand measurements, materials, and specific requirements for their specific application of pipe.
- Review potential job with manager/estimator to ensure acceptance of work.
- Work with pipe drafter to develop pipe drawings and product based on conversations.
- Develop pricing and timelines with estimator and production managers.
- Document proposal for customer in company format.
- Presenting and reviewing proposals with clients
- Negotiating proposals with clients with management involvement as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with ability to be a good listener and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization.
- Strong business acumen with ability to understand client goals and objectives, develop strategic plans for the client designed to support the achievement of those goals, and the hands-on aptitude to implement any required changes.
- Ability to practice critical thinking skills and strike the appropriate balance between satisfying the customer and making the right decision.
- Self-confident with ability to assess situations, make sound decisions, and resolve problems or issues for the customer autonomously.
- Strong customer service skills, able to manage customer inquiries and complaints swiftly and maintaining positive customer experience
- Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to see the big picture and strike a balance between written processes and common-sense practices as situations arise.

- Three years office experience.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with working knowledge of CRM systems.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Must have above average skills of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Word, and Microsoft Office Power Point.
- Experience of using CRM and ERP systems a plus.

- Work with the supply chain team to develop, implement, and maintain processes designed to provide notice of any product service gaps that will negatively affect our ability to meet customer expectations.
- Manage the development of all outgoing communication to customers and develop templates as required to ensure that messages are delivered in a positive, consistent manner by the entire team.
- Work closely with the sales organization to assist in finding acceptable resolution to significant customer issues, ensuring that everyone involved receives timely, accurate information relating to all facts surrounding the issue.
- Monitor daily activity reports to ensure timely processing of orders and response to customer inquiries.
- Work closely with the operations, and marketing team.
- Work with and/or lead cross-functional teams as required to identify, develop and implement new process or process improvements as need to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
- Participate in leadership, process and product training as required.

- Understand segment customer wants and needs, how they do business, their core applications and the Midwest relevant solution.
- Understand and drive operational efficiencies as a direct driver of customer satisfaction.
- Understand internal customer’s needs with regards to driving sales and market operational efficiencies.

- Assist Midwest by providing and submitting ideas for resolution of problem areas.
- Regularly communicate with Midwest Managers regarding key deliverables.
