Boston Chefs Social Media Marketing

Love going out to eat and exploring the Boston restaurant scene? Does your phone always eat first? Passionate about social media and content creation? Here’s the perfect opportunity for you: Boston Chefs, Inc. is looking for a creative, fun and driven part-time Social Media Manager. This person will work closely with our tiny (but mighty) marketing team to execute our social media strategy, create engaging Instagram content and help grow our audience.

Here’s what we do:Boston Chefs, Inc. provides digital marketing and promotion services to the Boston-area's vibrant (and booming!) culinary industry. We promote the best chefs and restaurants in the Greater Boston area through our website, email newsletter, Instagram, and Facebook. Our goal is to make BostonChefs.com the most comprehensive and up-to-date dining guide for Boston foodies.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
  • Proficient in photography & videography for social media
  • Experience with photo and video editing platforms (e.g., lightroom, photoshop, premiere pro, CapCut, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Canva and an eye for graphic design
  • Strong social media copywriting skills
  • Stellar communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Creative and excited to bring new ideas to the table!
  • 2-3+ years of social media experience
  • Must be Boston-based

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Plan & Manage Monthly Content Calendar
  • Daily promotion of BostonChefs.com News & Events, Special Features and Advertiser content through Instagram Stories
  • This includes designing Instagram Stories
  • Daily posting of planned social content
  • Shoot, Produce & Post Instagram Reels
  • This involves coming up with reel ideas, going to restaurants to film, editing the clips together, finding trending audio and posting
  • Engage with the Boston Chefs audience on Instagram
  • Liking, commenting and saving posts
  • Collaborating with our marketing team to come up with fresh ideas to help execute the Boston Chefs’ social media strategy

This position requires excellent communication skills, a drive to succeed, a creative mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and fabulous people skills. Applicants must be knowledgeable about the Boston food-scene and have experience with managing a social media platform.

Hourly Rate: $25-$35 depending on experience, aptitude and skillset

Here’s what we need:

The Social Media Manager must be able to dedicate 15-20 hours per week to the position. Work will be conducted in a hybrid work environment, with at least 1 day a month in our office at 200 Portland St, Boston, MA 02114 and other days remote and at different restaurant locations. Our hours are Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Additional Details:

This is an independent contractor position, which offers flexibility in scheduling while maintaining close collaboration with our marketing team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
