SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Partnership Activation Coordinator is responsible for executing sponsorship contracts, supporting Activation Managers, and ensuring exceptional client service throughout the activation process.

FUNCTION
The Partnership Activation Coordinator is responsible for fulfillment and execution of sponsorship contracts negotiated by the Partnership Development team. This position will serve as a support role within the partnership department to assist Activation Managers with various clients and projects.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for assigned sponsors and the complete execution of all elements of assigned partnership agreements and initiatives, including marketing, hospitality, media, signage, and experiential opportunities.
  • Assisting in execution of sponsor promotions and activation, primarily as related to Kentucky Derby Week as well as Churchill Downs Racetrack’s Spring, September and Fall Meets.
  • Initiating ongoing communication and providing support as needed to both the Partnership activation and Development teams.
  • Tracking and reporting event recap valuation for assigned partner accounts.
  • Serve as liaison between external constituents such as vendors and contractors.
  • Effectively communicating client needs to all team members as appropriate to ensure complete fulfillment and success.
  • Providing exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Championing corporate sponsor objectives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field of general business, marketing, Sports Administration or related field preferred
  • One (1) to two (2) years of sponsorship activation experience, inclusive of internships. More in-depth experience a plus.
  • Proven and demonstrated record of accomplishment in providing exceptional client service, preferably in a high end or high profile environment.
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to execute strategic activation programs.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in sports marketing, promotion, sponsorship activation.
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment generating effective solutions quickly and/or raising issues to management as necessary.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays.
