Position Summary:

This position will provide digital marketing leadership oversight for Patient Access Marketing programs that drive enrollment into the Amgen By Your Side program (RDBU Patient Support Program), onboard patients to their medication and drive adherence throughout their treatment. This role will also provide patient access marketing partnership for the Ultra-Rare Medicines portfolio (PROCYSBI, ACTIMMUNE, RAVICTI, BUPHENYL).

Responsibilities:

  • Digital marketing lead for Patient Access Marketing, partnering with Systems Business Owner role to ensure marketing initiatives are effectively implemented and included as part of the enterprise technology plan, including system enhancements to support marketing initiatives.
  • Drive strategy and development/ongoing maintenance of the Amgen By Your Side website to include content development, database integration, alignment with brand website ecosystems, and development of new features and functionality, including new enrollment pathways into Amgen By Your Side.
  • Drive strategy and development of patient enrollment, initiation and adherence programs designed to motivate and drive behavior change, including mobile messaging platforms and digital patient engagement tools.
  • Drive strategy and development of patient services enterprise multi-channel communication programs (e.g. Open Enrollment, Government Payor updates, etc.) working with cross-functional partners including patient services, government affairs, value & access and communications.
  • Partner with the Ultra-Rare patient services and brand teams to support programs for patient adherence and prevention of discontinuation.
  • Support and maintain the Amgen By Your Side brand identity and core messages, driving consistency in how support programs are positioned and discussed internally and externally.
  • Work closely with brand marketing teams to compliantly develop and integrate the patient services narrative into the brand narrative.
  • Define, monitor and report on KPIs related to patient services marketing programs.
  • Collaborate with Patient Access Marketing leadership to develop strategic marketing plans as input into the brand-specific annual planning process.
  • Manage budget, evaluate cost effectiveness of spend and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
  • Work closely, with regulatory, legal and medical affairs on program and content development and to manage tactics through the MAC process.
  • Manage at least 1 direct report

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience managing patient or consumer digital marketing preferred
  • 7+ years of marketing experience required with a preference for relevant healthcare marketing and/or pharmaceutical/advertising/communications agency experience
  • Demonstrated experience with leading and implementing technology that contributes directly to business needs and goals.
  • Innovation focused mindset- curious about new technologies and discovering new ways to reach patients and improve internal processes.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional partners, agency relationships and agency deliverables, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively and influence without authority
  • Ability to navigate a large matrix organization and centralized resources
  • Experience managing portfolio of products preferred
  • Experience managing a team of at least 1 direct report preferred
  • Experience with rare disease preferred
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels to drive initiation, adherence and compliance
  • Expertise working across multiple projects and managing multiple external vendors
  • Requires approximately 10% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments
  • Strong planning, project management, communication, and organization skills
  • Team-oriented attitude with demonstrated success as a valued colleague within a cross-functional team
  • Experienced in managing tactics through the regulatory approval process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

The annual base salary range for the Patient Access Information Systems, Associate Director opportunity in the U.S. is $171,988-$202,791.
