We are seeking a Philanthropy & Communication Manager to lead our fundraising and communication efforts. This leadership role is essential in cultivating donor relationships, overseeing strategic initiatives, and managing a talented team to drive the success of Family Services' mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors through face-to-face, virtual, and phone interactions.
- Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including individual contributions, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
- Hire, train, and mentor Philanthropy & Communication team members in partnership with the Vice President of Philanthropy & Communication.
- Supervise team members, manage work expectations, and conduct performance reviews.
- Manage and coordinate strategic fundraising and communication projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Family Services at public events, donor meetings, and networking opportunities.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Family Services' programs to effectively communicate its mission and identify support opportunities.
- Contribute to donor solicitation and marketing materials to create cohesive and compelling messaging.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Philanthropy & Communication to plan and implement fundraising and communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and stewardship efforts in the CRM database.
- Assist with planning and executing fundraising and donor stewardship events.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, Communications, Social Science or a related field.
Experience:

Required:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or business development.
- 2-3 years of supervision experience.
- Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) databases.

Preferred:
- 5+ years of nonprofit management or fundraising experience.
- Proven success in grant writing.
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
- Familiarity with website maintenance platforms (e.g., WordPress or SharePoint) and email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact).
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification and active AFP membership.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.

- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and work independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).

- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue-related goals.
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and reliable transportation.
