Phlebotomy Trainer (New York-North Region)
LOCATION
Full-time position with a Monday - Friday schedule, 7:30am - 4pm, requiring flexibility for training or operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification (preferred), minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, previous training or leadership experience (preferred), strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management skills, basic computer skills, and willingness to travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operations and personnel development, provide training and coaching for phlebotomy staff, assist with onboarding, develop training resources, evaluate training materials, support quality metrics, maintain training records, and perform related administrative tasks as necessary.

Job Description
This is a full time position: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm
- We are seeking flexibility on availability to potentially start and end later when needed for on-site training or operational needs.
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomy Trainer oversees day to day operations, communications, financial management, and personnel development. The phlebotomy trainer demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience with competencies, etc performs a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to improve laboratory operations. This position requires a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast -paced evolving and growing, dynamic team environment.
Essential Job functions:
- Provide training and coaching for new and existing Summit Health phlebotomy employees.
- Assisting with the onboarding of new employees to ensure a positive new hire experience.
- Develop and implement appropriate resources and programs to accomplish training objectives.
- Evaluate new, presently existing, and proposed training materials and plans.
- Support phlebotomy leadership with their goals in relation to quality metrics.
- Provide phlebotomy team with the guidance needed for Market Leading Service.
- Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted.
- Provide training with respect and professionalism at all times.
- Maintain competencies for all phlebotomists throughout the organization.
- Provide necessary support in Patient Service Centers as needed.
- Research industry related information when necessary.
- Become well versed in company policies and procedures.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience
- Previous training or leadership experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and time management skills
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to travel throughout territory for training purposes
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Additional administrative tasks as needed
Travel:
- As required for operations, client and personnel meetings, training, and conferences.
"Pay Range $25/hr - $33/hr
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position."
