Seeking a detail-oriented Planning and Reporting Analyst to support financial forecasting and data-driven decision making within Scheels to drive profitable buying and strategic initiatives.

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning and Reporting Analyst to support our organization’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will drive data-driven decision-making by developing and managing planning processes, analyzing key metrics, and delivering actionable insights. This role will play a critical part in financial forecasting, reporting, and optimizing profitable buying.
Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets functions and reporting capabilities.
- Work with the Lead Line Leader team to plan, monitor, and adjust open-to-buy budgets.
- Evaluate sales trends, inventory levels, and financial performance to support buying decisions.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to generate actionable insights for decision-making.
- Ability to use data and analytics to uncover opportunities within the business that will drive profitable/sustainable growth.
- High-level attention to detail and regular input for accurate data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reporting templates to track business performance.
- Present insights and recommendations to leadership through clear, concise reports and presentations.
- Support leadership in evaluating potential new initiatives, projects, and investments.
- Conduct market, competitive, and internal performance analyses to identify growth opportunities.
- Daily monitoring of vendor/brand marketing efforts to support competitive pricing for Scheels.
- Learn the ability to be organized and seamlessly handle several projects and tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience:
- Ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- Analytics experience preferred but not required
- SQL experience preferred but not required
