The Product Marketing Education team develops training programs for diverse customer segments, including sales teams, advertisers, and external agencies. Our mission is to accelerate ads product knowledge by providing timely, relevant, and impactful education opportunities. We achieve this by building diverse education experiences, such as Amazon Ads Certifications and Sales New Hire Bootcamp, to ensure our learners are equipped with the knowledge to perform their job duties effectively. We are seeking a Principal Curriculum Manager to own educational programs for Ad Sales. This role will build and manage executive-level relationships with sales leaders, product experts, GTM strategists, and our learning experience design team. The ideal candidate will develop strategic education programs to help sales teams build essential product knowledge, define the learning journey for our sales team, scope training initiatives, and advise sales leaders on equipping their teams with necessary product knowledge. The ideal candidate will be able to work backwards from sales team needs to create measurable programs that build competency and help our learners thrive in their roles. Key job responsibilities - Sales Product Education Content Strategy: Own the strategy and vision for a comprehensive sales product education program - Prioritization: Align training with business objectives and sales priorities to inform education roadmap and ensure our team is focused on building the right content to meet customer needs - Curriculum Management: Oversee training development initiatives, ensuring high-quality, relevant content for a global audience. This includes scoping educational content briefs, managing our catalog, and measuring its effectiveness - Sales Training Deployment: Deploy effective sales training programs - Stakeholder Management: Manage key relationships, ensuring alignment and buy-in for sales training initiatives. This includes regular interactions with sales leadership and scaled communications to our sales teams - Sales Training Subject Matter Expert: Serve as primary POC for sales leaders on education and training, providing strategic guidance and insight to inform education recommendations - Content Development Oversight: Ensure content development projects meet quality standards and explore innovative approaches to engage and educate our sales audience in partnership with our learning experience designers
  • Experience working cross-functionally and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals
  • 10+ years of experience building and managing sales education programs, product education curricula, and/or certifications for adult learners
  • Experience as a learning experience designer or building educational content and programs for sales teams
  • Understanding of consultative sales, including Challenger Sales Methodology
  • In-depth understanding of adult learning theory and learning design principles
  • Strategic thinker who can take broad visions and concepts, develop structured and measurable plans, and execute those plans by bringing diverse teams and perspectives together
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, changing, and ambiguous global environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
