About This Role
As a Principal UX/UI Designer at OutSystems, you will play a major role in shaping the future of how users interact with our innovative low-code platform. You’ll lead the charge in crafting intuitive, elegant, and impactful user experiences that empower developers and organizations to build software faster and better.
In this role, you will take ownership of high-impact design initiatives, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to ensure user-centric design principles are at the core of our platform. You’ll lead by example, setting the standard for design excellence (UX as well as UI) and ensuring our interfaces and interactions are not only functional but also delightful and inspiring.
As a key influencer in the design strategy, you will drive innovation and advocate for the user’s voice throughout the product lifecycle. You’ll mentor and inspire a large talented team of designers, helping to build a world-class design practice that aligns with OutSystems' mission and values.
What You Will Lead/Do or Key Responsibilities
  • Lead High-Impact Initiatives: Drive key design projects that address complex challenges, ensuring both UX and UI solutions meet user needs and align with business objectives.
  • Shape the User Experience: Craft intuitive and delightful interfaces that empower developers and organizations, making the complex simple and inspiring creativity.
  • Advocate for the User: Act as a champion for user needs, leveraging research and data to inform design decisions and ensuring that user feedback is integrated into iterative design processes.
  • Evolve the Design System: Contribute to and refine OutSystems’ design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all product touchpoints.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to guide the design process from ideation to product delivery and launch, ensuring alignment with user and business needs.
  • Drive Design Practice Development: Lead the evolution of the UX practice, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with other cross-functional areas within R&D to support strategic goals.
  • Inspire and Innovate: Bring energy, flexibility, and enthusiasm to the team, introducing new practices, methodologies, and ideas that inspire creativity and drive innovation across the organization. Provide guidance and leadership to a large team of talented designers, fostering growth, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Qualifications / What You Need To Succeed
  • 7+ years of experience working in UX or Product Design;
  • Experience in wide range of activities ranging from planning, conducting research in user experience, running product design processes and testing solutions;
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in various departments (e.g. design, engineering, product management, product marketing, marketing, sales);
  • Ability to define a product vision for a specific area, and to influence department goals and strategy;
  • Either a degree in a UX related field and professional experience with complex products, (B2B SaaS preferred).
  • Expert in figma and other design tools preferred.
  • Experience with Design systems is a great plus.
  • Great communication skills;
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of low-code platforms, software development processes, or related technical domains.
